This is not a side effect of viagra. This is a sequelae resulting from a chronic fear of being sexually ineffectual. When the fear becomes an overwhelm during sex there is nothing that will maintain your erection because an erection cannot be maintained in a state of extreme anxiety. What you should do is, after you have taken Viagra, have your wife pleasure you first. It appears to me that you are locked in a role in your sexual interactions with your wife where you put her needs first which would be OK if you didn't have erectile dysfunction based in extreme anxiety over not being able to get an erection. I have dealt with countless cases like this as a psychiatrist. If your wife really cares about helping you resolve this she should want to pleasure you first. Then perhaps you'll have enough confidence to pleasure her. The success rate for this approach with my clients has been close to 70%. Give it a try. Keep trying if it doesn't work at first.
