I just found out that my husband has Pancreatitis, he was in the hospital for 4 days, however they didn't refer him to any specialist, they just said to follow up with his primary physician. I know that there has to be a Doctor that specializes in this, does anyone know?
What type of Doctor Specializes in Pancreatitis?

You are looking for an endocrinologist
Did you ever find out what type of Dr. deals directly with the pancreas I am wondering because I have had nothing but problems with my stomach since having pancreatitis
sporter669, I looked up the disease and it would be a Gastrointestinal specialist who would handle pancreatic issues.
I hope your husband is on his way to a good recovery!
I meant what Maso said, Gastroenterolgist (sp?)
No not a GI dr I’ve seen 3 of them they do not! Know about the pancreas if they do it’s limited so please everyone stop thinking that a GI dr can help this. They don’t know about it.
You are looking for a Dr who specializes is a endocrineolgy. They specializes in diseases of the glands which is what he pancreas is one of. They also specialize in Diabetic care, which is caused by problems in the pancreas. Hope this helps you out.
