What is the true shelf life of Zithromax? How lone after the posted expiration date is the drug?

Usually the shelf-life of Zithromax would be 2 years from the date of manufacture, once the expiration date has reached the med becomes ineffective, it is mandatory to mention the expiry date of any med on the label/carton as per the laid down laws by US FDA.
