Will it be effective if taken as prescribed? My doctor just prescribed this medication for me today. Do I need to get another Pak?
I have a Zithromax Z-Pak with expiration date 06/01/2002?

Is there a reason you didn't use it before? When you get an antibiotic your suppose to use it until gone. Unless you have an allergic reaction. Then the doctor would prescribe something else. You should definitely get rid of it and remember to always use whatever antibiotic you get until it's gone. Even if you start feeling better.
Please destroy this it is ineffective past the date of expiration, you need a new script and new medication, it's worth doing and not taking any possible chances
Yes, you do have to get another pack, these are expired and have lost their effectiveness, and may have become toxic and very dangerous to your health.
Take them to your pharmacy so they can dispose of them safely.
All the best and take care.
