No.They are the same thing. Hydrocodone bitartrate is the generic name for the Vicodin. The Vicodin had 5mg hydrocodone bitartrate and 500mg Tylenol (acetomenophin). When you get your Vicodin prescription filled in generic the bottle will say Hydro/APAP 5/500.
