The adderall is for ADD, and the Paxil is for depression, I have been taking the adderall for over a year and was just prescribed Paxil, but I'm scared of "seritonin syndrome"
What are the possible reactions between adderall and paxil. 40 mg and 20 daily respectivly?

I was told by my psychiatrist that adderol stops depression and motivates u along with an anti depressant.
My experience with antidepressants has been that they have all made me more depressed, tired, and lethargic. Wellbutrin has been the most stable one I've tried in reference to side effects. With adderall being a stimulant the paxil in a lose dosage, taken at the proper time of day, may very well be the right combination for you. Just listen to your body and be alert of anything you feel isn't quite right. You're on the rigt path, just fine tune it now.
Hey Ellie, I used to take paxil along with adderall and I was also taking klonopin together for almost two years. I thought the combination of these three medicines worked great in treating my ADD, depression and anxiety. Right now I am only taking adderall but I feel as though I should be on a mood stabilizer or something. You know medication affects everyone differently just as I do, but as for me, the combination of adderall with paxil is not a bad idea to treat you ADD and depression. I'm still figuring out the right combination of meds for myself, but I know for sure that adderall by itself is not going to efficiently treat the depression and mood unstability along with the ADD (adderalls primary purpose). You should give it a shot and see how you feel. You will be able to tell if the combination of the two meds will work for you after a couple days to a week max.
You don't have to wait 4 to 6 weeks like a lot of healthcare professionals insist on being true, to see how the combination of paxil and adderall works in your system. If you try it for a couple days to a week and don't like it then you can move on to another anti-depressant. I would start out with the lowest dose possible which I think is 20mg. I actually broke the 20mg tablet in half and took the two halves (10mg a piece) at different times of the day. This lessened the side affects (numbness and fatigue) by spreading the dose out throughout the day. My doctor said this was ok for me to do this before I tried it. Well, I hope this was somewhat helpful in answering your question and best of luck to you! I just hope I can find the right combination of meds for myself as well!!!
