I'm currently on Viibryd, lamotrigine and Vraylar. Valium just in case. Major Depressive disorder, Bipolar 1, generalized anxiety, panic attacks, PTSD plus I take A LOT of vitamins (gastric bypass April 2023). My weight has started to increase significantly as of recently. Since I have leveled out from surgery. 10-15 plus pounds in past couple months. Same appetite, same varying exercises, same portion control and caloric intake. Any suggestions? As I have seen many medications cause a lot of weight gain in others. Thank you for any information. I do see my psychiatrist soon to talk with her as well, regarding the weight gain.

Hi, emclaeys!
Unfortunately, most if not all antidepressants/antipsychotics have the potential to cause weight gain in some users. Fortunately, every person responds in a different way to these meds so even if you have to switch chances are you may not have the same effect.
Just for the record:
Viibryd Common (1% to 10% of users): Increased appetite, increased weight.
lamotrigine Common (1% to 10% of users): Weight decrease, weight gain.
Vraylar Very common (10% or more of users): Weight gain (up to 17%).
It's good you'll get professional advice soon.
Regards, Wildcat
