I'm 74 and have been taking 200 mg of bupropion daily for 3 weeks. The last 2 weeks my lips are burning, they look extremely chapped and I have small blisters that pop up. It's really hard to eat anything but I'm drinking a lot of water , smoothies etc. Is this an allergic reaction maybe ? Outside of my lips hurting , it's also embarrassing. They are that red and not chapped exactly but the redness spreads beyond my lips. Hard to describe.
Wellbutrin - bupropion allergy or side effect ?

Sure does sound like an allergic reaction, especially if you can trace it to the Wellbutrin with almost certainty. If not, think hard about other possibilities.
I took Wellbutrin for awhile and never had the side effect you describe. Dry mouth? Yeah, I probably had that, but yours sounds almost like a rash.
Hi, Wandering!
Oral conditions can be uncommon to common side effects of using bupropion. Talk with your doctor right away... perhaps a lower dosage may be helpful or you may need to look at changing your medication.
Don't wait and suffer hoping that it'll just go away! It probably won't...
