I have insulin resistance and had trouble losing weight because I was hungry all the time. My doctor started me on Saxenda April 11. I have had very few side effects, a little nausea every once in a while. I have 3 more pounds to go and to date I have lost 23.6 pounds. Has anybody reached their goal weight? Did you taper off the medicine? Does the weight come back? I have a unique situation with the insulin resistance and the hunger that is felt when not on the medicine, so I am worried about the stopping the medicine cold turkey and if I can keep the weight off.
Does the weight stay off after completing Saxenda?

I am in the same boat. I had radioactive iodine treatment for Graves' disease and my weight went up 35 lbs in 6 years. Then I became insulin resistant. I am starting the third week of saxenda and so far I've already lost 11 pounds and I take metformin as well. I was curious about the same thing when we go off meds? I have hardly any appetite now but before saxenda I was hungry all the time. I know weight loss is never an easy fix and it takes a lot of will power to not over eat. I think some people don't have the hunger issues or metabolic issues and they don't understand and can be very judgmental and just be offensive. Hopefully this helps form a lifestyle change!!!
Hi
My doctor wants me to consider this medication. I was wondering about the same things. How did it go for you?
Thank you!
