Hi I had unprotected sex this morning right before I got my first depo shot, and he told me he went off in me. Since I got the shot today do I still have the chance of getting pregnant?? I just had a miscarriage two weeks ago I can't get pregnant again right now.

Yes, there is still a possibility of pregnancy. You are not protected right away unless you get the shot on Day 1 to Day 5 of your period otherwise it takes a week before protection kicks in. More than likely you will be fine. Chances are greater for not getting pregnant than for getting pregnant. Just be sure to use back up protection, like condoms and spermicide until 7 days after your shot. Did you tell them you just had unprotected sex the day before your shot when you got it?

No I didn't cause my grandma was with me today when I got the shot and I didn't want her knowing. I just hope I'm ok and won't get pregnant. I'm still bleeding from the D&C I got done from the miscarriage would that count as having my period?

Bleeding from a miscarriage doesn't count as a period.

No, it has to do with ovulation, not bleeding. If you have ovulated since your miscarriage, then there is a chance for pregnancy. As soon as you miscarry, you can ovulate again right away. Chance for pregnancy at any time is about 30% so there is a 70% chance for not getting pregnant, you'll just have to wait and see. Dont be surprised or worried if your periods are very irregular with Depo. Some women stop having periods with Depo so if you dont have one a month or so from now, go ahead and do a home pregnancy test. If it is negative and still no period, do another before you get your next injection. If it is negative a couple months after sex, then you are not pregnant.

Hi I’m concern about something similar to this, I had sex with my boyfriend the same day I got my Depo shot(Day 28) and Usually I get my period around Day 30-32. Is there a possibility that I could be pregnant? Can I still get my period even though I got the shot on that particular day?
