Hi all... with your TN-does anyone have the sensation of your teeth vibrating... or your tongue vibrating when touched to the roof of your mouth? I do and my Neurologist always looks at me like, "well... isn't that interesting' and says that they don't have any other patients who tell them they have that symptom. I'm just curious to know if I am the only one out there with this. If not... what does YOUR doctor say about it?

That definitely happens! Mine changes with each episode, but in my worst episode yet, the sensitivity was in the roof of my mouth so it most definitely tingled/sparked every time my tongue touched it! I finally had to use mouth canker sore medicine so that I could get a few minutes relief to have a drink. In fact, during this episode I was on liquid meals for a week. I also sometimes have the sensation of my nose wobbling, which happens when the sensitivity is near the inner side of my eye. It's a strange condition, and very different for each individual. I finally saw someone who specializes in it, and found that to be so helpful as he knew exactly what I was talking about. Of course, I had to fly 6,000 miles to see him :) Hope this helps.
Where was he located? I am in NC and am seeing UNC Neurology at the Univerity campus. A lot of Junior Varsity doctors there! LOL.
BTW... my vibration sensation is continual. I just never put my teeth together unless I have to do so.
I saw Dr. Mark Linsky at UCI in California. He's a board member of the Trigeminal Neuralgia Association, and a neurosurgeon. I live in Ireland, so the knowledge here is very limited as TN is so rare. Luckily my neurologist here is very open to other opinions (many are not)! My consultation with Dr. Linsky was $700, but I got lots of questions answered and he advocated surgery, where the docs here are not. He also sent a report to my neuro, so that should help my case.
