I've taken viagra (20mg) after a meal and sadly the result was not very satisfactory. Should I ask my doctor to increase the dosage? Or I've just have to take the medicine before a meal? Thanks.
To make it more effective,Should I take viagra before or after a meal?

Like most medications, Viagra is more readily absorbed on an empty stomach, but you may need a little something in the stomach to avoid upset. You could experiment by taking the Viagra dosage before a meal and see if that is not more acceptable.
I have found that my response to Viagra peaks later in the night, and I will frequently feel the effect in my eyes (dry, pressure) when I wake a few hours later. This convinced me that I was mis-timing the dosage, and should have taken it earlier. However, I also found leg cramps to be an unacceptable side effect that put me off from using Viagra again.
From personal experience I have found Viagra to be most effective on an empty stomach. It seems to work faster and better. Try it and see. If it doesn't, see your doctor for an increased dosage or maybe Cialis or Levitra. I thought they came in 25, 50, and 100 mg. tabs.
Thanks for the information
General considerations regarding when and how to take Viagra include the following:
* It is taken as needed, usually one hour before sexual activity. However, you should not take it more than once a day.
* You should take your dose with a glass of water, although you can take it with or without food. If you take it with food, keep in mind that fatty meals may decrease the levels of Viagra in the blood.
For more details, please talk to the doc/pharmacist who did prescribe the med, take care, be well & safe!
