This is why I hate doctors... in my area, they are jerks and care only about themselves and their career... here it is..
The other night, I couldn't sleep. i knew I had a UTI and felt terrible, but dealt with it because I don't trust doctors. Sometimes I can treat it myself with homeopathic remedies and I'm ok,,, but after another sleepless night, I got up around 2 in the morning and felt so dizzy I passed out cold on my kitchen floor. When I came too, my husband was looking over me scared to death, I don't know what happened, but I felt like my BP was skyhigh, so he got scared and called the Ambulance {mistake #!} they came out, and saw I could walk and was alert, so they asked if I wanted to go to the hospital, and my husband convinced me to go. So, I got in the Ambulance feeling very emabressed, and they treated me very badly and told me that I was keeping them from more important duties, I felt like I could've jumped out and walked home. I felt so bad I even apoligized, because I diddn't know what else to say. and I hadn't slept in 2 days. So, I get to the hospital and was greeted by actually a very nice nurse, who was compationate and actually cared.
So, after and urine sample and a bp check {was 184/104} and a 2 hour wait. The doctor came in calling me by my last name, I knew that wasn't good. He said I would not have died from my HBP today, but I would eventually and that wasn't a reason to be there.and then he asked what the problem was and I told him, when he saw I came in by ambulance, he proceeded to tell me that I was a bad person, that someone could have died because I took an ambulance, and that an ambulance ride costs 600$, and then he told me that people die every day because of someone like me and I was "taxing the system", When he left I cried so hard that when the nurse came in, she couldn't understand what I was saying. When I finally got it out, she was understanding and said what he said was horrible and she wrote down in my chart what he had said to me and gave me a number to call to complain, when I told my husband and when he picked me up what happened, he immediatly called that person to complain, after he told her she said,"oh no, not again". So, I hope he got in trouble. I hope I recieve something in the mail for a law suit against him or something but I don't think I would get that lucky. I already don't trust dr anyway, and this confirmed my feelings. I have many diagnosis and I haven't been to my dr for a while because I dont trust any one I have even had. My Grandfather was the lead medical director and an MD at that hospital for 55 years. If he was still alive that dr would've been fired on the spot... so there it is, sorry so long, sometimes I think about it and cry, where is the compassion? What about the hippocratic oath? Its all lost now adays... something needs to be done.. thanks for reading... PS~when I left my BP was 202/126... I left anyway!
This is why I hate doctors... my horrible story?

The saddest thing is: that Dr got paid MORE than the ambulance did to be so rude and mean to you! I use to pay Insurance Claims for a major provider, it is horendous what ER Dr's get paid for 3 minutes of nothing.
Like you I have several incurable illnesses, and I ended up Not going to Drs for 3 years because all it is, is a money market.
I am so sorry about your experience.
How dare you say that doctors only care about themselves and their careers. Doctors sacrifice the best years of their youth to study in an overly competitive environment, take on hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt, and work 80 hours a week; only to be sued, over-taxed, and deal with patients that think they know better.
From what you described it sounds like your husband could have easily driven you to the hospital. And that ER physician and the EMTs were correct, you were not in a life or death situation. Those resources should have been kept open for trauma victims and other high priority triage.
You are not special and do not deserve special treatment. Get your Axis I issues under control before you berate some of the most intelligent and selfless people our society has to offer.
You obviously are a physician or know physicians, but have never been treated as a patient. I personally feel that all Pain Management physicians should be hit by a truck as part of their internships. They are so quick to state the opiates don't work for this or that or that one type of muscle relaxer doesn't work when they actually do. Before you bother to post on here again you should try being a patient and then people may actually listen to what you have to say. I can tell you right now that you are outnumbered and no one is listening to your inexperienced comment.
"sacrifice"... did anyone force you to go to med. school and become a doctor??? seems to me it is a personal choice... "selfless" most drs. I know of work nine to five and forget the weekends, sick people have to wait in line for hours at walk-in clinics - if they can find one - to be treated by some 2nd rate "selfless dr." who could care less about them!!!
LOOK HERE YOU, unlike some > shill < that's telling us we deserve this or that on tv so they can convince us to buy their product.
We DO DESERVE THE BEST they have to offer when it comes to HEALTH CARE! ! !
We paid for it - we deserve it.
Its heartless jerks like you that deserve nothing good in life - with your attitude. I used to whip up on the bullies in school and believe me - you've got it coming - - - OH, if I only knew who you are, or your kids or your other loved ones (especially your parents for raising such a jerk). They would get it face to face, cause I'm not the cowardly type that does things when no ones looking.
I don't pity the next nurse or dr that I catch being unethical to anyone nearby me for the rest of my life. Because of people like you, we all need a BULLDOG PERSONALITY to stand guard over us in today's medical facility's.
St Josephs in Orange CA has at least two O.C. sheriffs at the door to the E.R. and now I know why. The drs there are cold hearted money grubers and they have accomplices that all need to be jailed. Where is the law when an INDIVIDUAL needs it.
Why does the law protect evil ones instead of the average Joe?
Lets warn all we know and love of the dangers of not being rich enough to command respect when it comes to the health care crowd. So that they may do better in school and earn an income relative to these issues. That seems the wise thing to do these days. . . .
The previous message is - as you all know directed at 14a.
So please pardon my emotion as a result of 14a's insult to all the victims of the shoddy so called health care industry.
14a is a shinning example of the clods roaming the halls of medical facility's.
The day is coming when 14a will reap what they have sown.
Because the supreme being most of us pray to is a God of causation (other wise prayer is a waste of time) and he is watching us all and evil does not escape his attention whether people like 14a believes in him or not.
Keep in mind Chronicpain, you are in our prayers. It may not help, but the expression of love for our fellow does not go unnoticed.
no worries folks, no one is taking 14A seriously.
I agree with you 14A on some points. I don't think chronicpainhurts wasted the doctors or paramedics time. If she felt she needed to be scene then she had a right to go to the E.R. However do think it's really unfair to vilify an entire ocupation. I firmly believe that doctors sacrifice a lot. Just because they are paid to do a job doesn't cancel out the sacrifices they make. Chronicpainhrts was treated badly and that isn't right but you can't blast all doctors for her expierience. I have had doctors that I didn't care for but I have also had amazing doctors that if they hadn't taken wonderful care of me I would not be here today.
yes they are great doctors out there but you also have those who believe their poop doesn't stink because the have m d after their name !!and we pay you doctors our hard earned money to treat us and i won't be treated like a dog just because you went to school so long and had loans to repay ! grow up! thats life and if you are a good doctor you will have compassion on others ,not just push them through so you can get to the next room and patient !!!
please believe me i know that doctors get sued every day for their mistakes but in the working field when one make a boo - boo you get fired ! at least you doctors have insurance that helps when you are sued normal ever day workers just get fired and know one helps them pay their bills ! so don't wine to us about how much you went to school and about being sued !if doctors treated their patients like the would want to be treated what a difference it would make !!
i know i have paid for some doctors houses and cars and put their kids through collage ! cause i'm one of those who are unlucky enough to be sick and have had a lot of surgery! and i don't mind paying doctors for their work ! but my time is worth something too! we go to your office and set for hours after our appointment time because you have over booked your time and you expect us to just set and bear it ! cause you are a doctor !will you aren't seeing me for free and i expect respect from doctors as well as giving them respect !
boy you opened a can of worms !!! if you didn't want to help others then why did you become a doctor !?first what happened to do no harm?if you treat your patients badly you are harming them ! because they will stop seeing a doctor and then as the Bible says their blood is on your hands !
I have to comment on your comment14A. EVERYONE is special! With blood pressure as high as hers was she should not have been treated that way by anyone. We are talking "ready for a stroke" here. Yes, I agree, there are many really good doctors & nurses, but there are bad apples in every barrel, & apparently she drew the straw that day. How dare you say she wasn't treated badly!
So sorry to here of your troubles!I myself had to move to another state CA Bakersfield did not like it the first time but even worst now as i need med care.Only 4 doctors that treat RA and all bunch of nothing!! they never asked for my med records or even sent for them i have to tell him when i need x-rays blood work and like pulling a tooth getting to get him to listen to you!thgives me meds i cant take or afford or just donot work and rush you out then charge 350. visit.only optioon is 150 miles away or 2200 to my great doc in metareie LA.
hey chronicpainhurts, Let me tell you the two latest screw ups by different doctors at the same hopital. My grandmother (95) died in the hospital after complication with the flu at a nearby nursing home. The last night she was there the two nurses( who were great by the way )she had an 18kt.; gold wedding band on. The night an hour or so the two nurses on duty tried to get that ring off with vaseline. Her fingers so arthritic she was yelling in pain so it was left. When we got her personal belongings back there was no ring! As family watched her die, everyone knew she had the ring that night. It was never recovered. In December 2009 only one month aftermy grandmother died my dad was rushed into the same hosital with congestive heart failure On christmas day he seemed in good spirits but about ten hours later he was brought to the intensive cardiac care unit with multple organ failure. My mom and I stayed by his bed the whole night. Arouind 5a.m.
he had whats called a death rattle? Anyhow when his heart machine flatlined ( he was DNR ) I ran out in the hallway and yelled help, I think my dad just died. The doctor there just looked up like I was bothering him and bluntly said "well, This was expected wasn't it? How awful. I will never forget the cold lifeless way that doctor spoke to me. That's why I hate doctors, he acted like we caused HIM an inconvenience! Fall Queen
you poor girl... your bp is dangerously high... get help!! I myself think its been changed to the "Hypocritic oath"...
LOL! Angelnot... Hypocritic Oath! That's priceless!!!
i'm sorry for your horror story and sad that it happen!but i have two of them and hope you don't mind me sharing them!?
i was put on methadone for chronic pain and one night i went to the er cause i was in so much pain !the doctor came and and looked at my chart and said go home junkie and take a pill! he never even asked what was my issues !
boy did i get up in his face and told him that i wasn't a junkie that i was on meth for chronic pain and that something was wrong with me ! they were calling security when i left ! i did call and made a conplaint against him !
and was back in the er the next night and was admitted to the hospital for a kiddney infection and uncontroled pain !
then after surgery in july 2010 i had to go to another er cause i started draining fluid and was in so much pain .they put me in a room started a i v and left me there for hours.i was getting soaked from the fluid draining out of my stomach and couldn't get no help no call button or anything ! there was no rest room and i called out for almost 20 minutes before i got a security officers attention ,who helped me get my i v down so i could go to the restroom!
i was so upset at being treated like this ! i was admitted and the guy who took me to my room thought i had wet myself because i couldn't keep my gown changed enough to stay dry ! i was crying so hard i couldn't breath .when the nurse came in to take my pressure ect. she was mad at the people in er ! i had a fever of 102.9!but the nurses on the floor were wonderful! i again complained and the sent nurses (head over er) and others to listen to my story ! the even called me after i was released from the hospital ,i was there a week!
so sicken by the way those who chose to help others treat people !!! i love to get those who are a nurse or doctor because they want to help those who are sick !and you can tell when you get one!
i just had two back surgeries a day apart and my nurses and doctor were wonderful to me ! i truely believe the nurse that was discharging me after my first surgery saved my life !she noticed that i was really in a lot of pain cause i asked her for some more pain med cause i had to ride an hour ! she realized that something wasn't right and called my doctor who ordered a m i r
of my back .fluid had built up ,and more of my disk needed to be removed ! also on first surgery doctor nicked the sack around my spine causing spinal fluid to leak out !staples are out now but i'm still in a lot of pain !gonna call the doctor if i don't get relief soon!
you are worth a lot more than those mouthy people know ! please do get help with your blood pressure and know that they are some wonderful health care givers out there ! and i hope you get a wonderful one !
sorry so long but i just wanted to share my story with you ! and let you know that there are those who care ! wishing you the best in 2011 and hope your health inproves !
Awful but all to common.
Its bullshit for anyone needing medical attention to be ignored or treated like a junkie etc.. it pisses me off Ive been treated the same way.And they wonder why ppl want to sue their asses.Cause they deserve it.
wow hun all i can say is wow what a jerk i have only been treated like shit one time and at that time i was a few weeks preg with my 6 year old and the nurse mid wife that i seen at first was treating my like shit she wanted to do a abortion on me i was like omg no no no and then i got another doctor after i told them i did not want that woman near me ever again and i told them what she had done and she got fired haha showed her but hun unfortonally there are still SOME nice doctors and nurses out there but there again you do have the doctors that are there to get paid and walk away and not even care i hope everything works out on that piss head of a doctor i hope he gets what he deserves
I have never understood in my whole entire life, how or why someone would think that they have the right to tell your or advise you to either get an abortion, have a kid or give the kid up for adoption. All of those options are options that YOU AND ONLY YOU can decide on. I personally am not for abortion, but I also don't want it to be illegal because there are grey areas that are not covered in laws that are generally always black and white.
I once had a friend that told her sister she would never talk to her again if she didn't get an abortion, I was appalled. I was more appalled later when she started sleeping with my husband, but that goes to show you how those types of people are. They are only interested in their own agenda. That person who was pushing you to have an abortion, probably had one or had a girlfriend/wife who had one and gets to justify or make themselves feel better about it every time they convince someone else to have one.
Self serving motives can be the only reason why someone would push a decision that is completely yours and yours alone down your throat when they have absolutely no right nor any idea what your circumstances are. That person was not working in your best interest only pushing their own agenda. I find this often with physicians. Right now my doctor is reducing my pain medication despite the fact that the physical therapy and shots are not working. So the goal is not whether or not I get better or to become pain free, it is just getting me off of the pain meds to save his nervous discomfort in prescribing them to me.
How about physicians who will not allow you to return for a visit if you owe them a balance? Thanks for showing me that you are not in it for your patients only for their money. I don't want to see you now anyway!! It is extremely rare to find a physician who actually does work in your best interest. I have been in and out of so many different doctors offices over the past 22 years and think I have only had that happen once.
Have you contacted your state's Ombudsman? I don't know if your state has one but call your local Department of Human Services (DHS) and ask them to help you by giving you the Ombudsman's phone number. Tell this person exactly what happened to you with that awful Dr. An Ombudsman is supposed to represent you and help you resolve what happened to you.
Hope this helps.
WOW, I never thought of that myself, see folks I don't know everything. I forgot about them guys. Thanks for the reminder, marjorie zych
I hope I don't live in your area-our only ER is bad enough after being taken over by a large private medical 'conglomerate'. Their ER chief was shipped off to my pain clinic; Was actually told by him/ex ER doc that I called their office too often, and 'how are they supposed to run a business like that?'! (I had to call repeatedly to get copies of my records.) Never mind patient care. My records have gotten totally mixed up... and beyond. About you: Question: are you overweight? HBP patients are often 'dismissed' for this alone. Also knowing 'too much' about symptoms & meds can make ER Docs less appreciative of your condition. If you have a primary care doc. get a health panel, your BP is way too high. Agree with the omega threes, take them if you can, also biotin 500-1000 mcg/day help with triglycerides/artery function. Stay away from the caffeine, and check any meds you are taking with the drug interaction page on this website, some can cause high BP. Good luck, and I hope you have access to another ER.
I am from Manchester, New Hampshire, and chronicpainhurts is not alone here either. I am new to this program on drugs.com and I have enjoyed being able to share my questions and thoughts and I like to try and help people in anyway I can. I just read your story and oh my God the flashbacks of an emergency room trip I had came back. You are not alone in this battle of doctors and medical personnel. I went to a local hospital for some help, I was in severe pain and I was also suicidal and ready to call it quits and before I did my husband took me to the hospital. I was physically threatened by a LNA and lied to constantly by the doctor and RN who took care of me here is my story hope it is not to long but I want to reassure you that you are not alone in this fight for better health care. I went to the hospital just recently and I told them I needed some help I was thinking of suicide because I couldn't take being in pain and vomiting all the time (still am).
I was put in a special room and was greeted by this LNA, she had an attitude right off the bat (probably because I had a psychiatric issue), I was told to put on these funny looking PJ type clothes and I politely asked her if I could just see the doctor I know because he was the one who knows me best and she yelled at me and said, "put these fu--- things on, as she slammed them on the stretcher, or I will knock you on your a... rip your damn clothes off and tie you down and put them on you myself, she then left the room and went to get a security guard (who fortunately stuck up for me). She then told me to put the clothes on again and the guard said that she would have to compromise, he took my shoes and made sure my pockets were empty and then she stormed off with my things. I suffer from major PTSD and she triggered some nasty flashbacks that almost put me in the State Hospital. The security guard was very nice though, he told me just to tell her to call him if I needed anything. I was then lied to by the physician assistant who was in charge of me and the RN also. They told me this certain doctor that I wanted to see wasn't there and I know he was because I saw him in the same hallway I was in but couldn't catch his attention. I told them this and they said OH WELL DEAL WITH IT. I finally got to see a mental health worker and she got me out of there thank God. So you see it is happening everywhere. I reported these people and I was sent a letter saying appropriate measures where taken what they were I don't know but I hope it was taken care of, I doubt it though because this ain't the first time either. I was even told by a doctor when I said I was in pain one day that she was not going to put up with another drug addict like my sister. She was comparing me with my sister and refused to help me I signed out AMA. I have a wonderful doctor now, very caring and supportive, so there is hope yet. Please keep trying to find a good doctor they are far and few between but they are out there. Good luck. Take care of that blood pressure the others are right that is stroke range. I will be thinking of you and if you don't mind I will be praying for you also that doesn't hurt either I think it helps.
marjorie zych- I was in a bad place mentally a few months ago. Everyone kept telling me to go to the hospital to get some relief from the depression, crying, thoughts of dying etc, even my psychiatrist said to admit myself. But I didn't and now hearing your story, i'm glad I didn't, it's exactly what I fear most, getting beat up by people who are supposed to help, instead they do more damage. Sorry about your experiences...
Thaks cathleen I took care of that situation with the administrator of the hospital. I am not going to take it anymore and now I have a good doctor and she don't put up with her patients being messed with either so it just goes to show there are good ones out there but they are very hard to find that is for sure I know I have been to enough of them in all areas of practice, marjorie zych
Good for you, taking control and finding the right dc for you! I admire your courage to take on "the system"
I didn't alays have that courage th it is tanks to my husband I have the courage to fight. I hate putting him through all this and I figured if I had a good doctor maybe I wouldn't have to. The good Lord always sends us what we need maybe not what we want but what we need and I guess I needed a good man in my life finally and I got it. will continue to fight these guys as long as I can so others don't have to. Take care, marjorie zych
Cathleen I agree that Marjois story is horrible but please trust me when I say not al doctors, E.R.'s or mental health personel are bad. If you ever have phsciatric issues in the future please don't hesitate to get help. If your worried they will mistreat you try to take someone along with you that will stick up for you. They can be the bad guy. That way you don't get labled as a trouble maker. Not that sticking up for yourself makes you a trouble maker, but some ( not all ) may see it that way. It really can make a big difference to have an advocate on your side.
mel ander- I see your point. I have to stop being afraid of doctors(that's my real problem), escpecially as I get old I need to rely on them more and more. Bringing an advocate is a super idea, I don't know why I didn't think of it, thank you
mel ander is right cathleen not all are bad I just happen to find them. I now have a wonderful doctor and if your in the NH area I can give you her name and I also have a wonderful psychiatrist and counselor finally. Please don't hestitate to ask for help if you need it. I am also willing to listen anytime but remember I am not a professional so ask for help if you need it please. Take care, marjorie zych
Hi Marjorie zych... I am new to this site, but live close by to where you do.I am new to the area as well,I am so scared because have been through exactly what you just said an others,I am in DESPEATE NEED of finding a Good Dr who will treat me for my pain issues but also will not look down upon me as if i am a Criminal due to the medications i am on.I dont know where to go or where to start. You mentioned in your article that you have a "good Dr. Now"... I am desperate for a referral,no need to identify yourslef if you dont want to,but Tye meds I am on I am going to need with in the next month ... If you can help me,I would gratefully appreciate it... Thank you
kat232014
I would be willing to help if I can. I am going to add you as a friend so I can pass the info along. Just add me also and then I can help o.k. marjorie zych
Have heard of Dr. Don Goldenberg at Newton Wellsley Hospital
Kat, ask the doctor who wrote your last prescriptions to refer you to a doctor in the area where you just moved. A lot of doctors will not even take new patients who take pain medications, but it certainly helps if another doctor calls. It lends you credibility and diminishes the stereotype we all face, "just another druggie." Best of luck, changing doctors is very scary to all of us who suffer with diseases or injuries with chronic pain.
Your story is horrible! But you really should be taking something for your BP it is way too high. As you don't like doctors I assume you aren't very fond of meds. Check out the omega 3'S and other natural remedies for high bp and I am sure you can find a natural way to control it. Watch your diet salt, caffeine, etc. My mom swears my her natural remedies she will be 78 in August. I would also recommend a bp machine for at home so you can monitor it yourself. Hospitals are getting worse and many people feel as you do.
I'm in Ohio and feel the same way about dr. What both the er squad & dr said was totally inapproriate. Every line I read about your story pissed me off. I've seen & heard about things like this to often. Most dr. do think there GOD. Itabouts a shame that we HAVE to trust them. Just like juries, pharmacies & food suppliers, lawyers & cops, they no we need them & depend on their morals & values of doing the right thing. We literallly put our lives in their hands. Unfortantely, to often they don't.They all got an allegiance to each other. Theres got to be something we can do. Plus if your not among the hi-wealthy people of the world, your really up shit creek without a paddle.
They need to be put in a situation in which someone they care about is treated like they treat people, and no one to advocate for them. I remember that feeling of hoplessness, but GOD ALWAYS sends atleast one person, just like that one nurse that helps you get thru for that moment in time. Who knows, he may hav already got his.
Hello chronicpa: You're right, you just told us members , people , readers a real Horror story. Do not apologise for a long story, or a horror story, as you NEED to unload it , and We need to read it.
Maby the people in these groups are starting to get angry and shocked over the inhumane treatment and total lack of knowledge we the people are being forced to accept. Three of us... subzero58... christeneATU... and Sacosam have started talking about a protest group. It's gonna' take a lot more than 3 people... at LEAST 25 people, with 3 alternates ? ? ? but there'sa helluva' lotta' people in these groups ! !
Sacosam
Hey, I would like to join the protest group, please tell me how.
Hi mfpdifibro(?) You are IN Girl... now wasn't that easy ? ? Sacosam
Hay I want in too Saco. Some of these doctors think they are God's gift to the world and I for one have had enough I have some wonderful doctors now but I tell you I have had to go through with a weed wacker to find them. Thanks for letting me spout off, marjorie zych
Hey, count me in! I've been looking for a long time to find a way to make my voice heard on all this. I get so frustrated with these self appointed gods, and having no way to be heard and count, I need to force it out of my mind or I will over stress myself and walk around angry all day. I cant even discuss it cause I wont get it out of my mind. Here, if theres a chance to be heard, COUNT ON ME!! I have totaly related to everyone of your stories and was not going to comment because of risking my sanity for the day, but risking my sanity is worth it if it results with a positive outcome on this issue and many more relating to it. God, this is good. I'm not good at organizing or leading these kind of things, but I am good at following and letting my voice be heard. So, let me follow you!!
Count me in too, please.
To see how angry pain patients are getting, and how much they are suffering now... check out national pain report.com. And also US pain foundation.com. These two sites have a lot of activism on them.
file a formal complaint with the hospital
hi, this is the kinda story i hear all to often. some of these doctors think it is there job to tell the people who are paying there salaries what kind person they think we are on one of our worst days. if we were at our best would we be in a hospital being shuffled around like cattle. i think not. i hope you go to the proper channels so dr nose in the air, gets to hear what kind of compassion he delt you on that visit to there hospital. don't let him get away with that kind of behaviour. if i have to go to the emergency room im on deaths door. you very well could have been. it up to every patient to tell the administration when we are satisfied or when we are not. but if you don't names your shoddy treatment goes unheard.if i go to a door and he trys to treat me like crap, i fire him and call my insurance co and let them know. doctors and pharmacists are at the mercy of our over paid insurance companys.
when i did unexpectable work in my past and the company docked my pay, believe me it came out of my pay. we need to think of doctors as businessmen and not some higher being put in our lives to pass judgement on us...
Thanks zubzero58, and everyone for your comments. I am more scared now of my blood pressure, now that I know how dangerous it was. I will be taking steps to help myself with that. I already have lost 60 lbs, but unfortunatly, gained some of it back, and I think thats what did it. I am doing my best to get that dr fired, but don't know if it will work... we'll see and I'll keep everyone posted. With my fibromyalgia, I am already standing on the edge of a cliff all the time, all I need is a dr to push me over the edge. I will once again find a new dr. There is a doctor about 30 miles away that just treats fibromyalgia, and related conditions, I will give her a call... thanks again, I will not put up with anyone elses crap! :)
I am so sorry to hear about your story. I have now made up a new name for the "Hypocratice Oath" it is now the "Hypocritical Oath". They now pledge to be hypocritical, judgmental, quick diagnosing physicians just to get you out of their office and get someone else in. I have no doubt that there are really good doctors out there, they are just few and far between. If I had a nickel for every time a physician did not listen to my list of symptoms and was quick to chose a misdiagnoses and incorrect treatment plan, I would be very very rich. I pretty much had to do all the research and diagnose myself. I hate it the most when they try to tell me how I feel, what medications work and or don't work when I already know by now what does and does not. They just simply do not want to prescribe what is necessary because of the "risk". That is not caring for the patient that is caring for only themselves hence the "Hypocritical Oath".
Several times they have done way more harm in sending me to ill educated physical therapists who want me to exercise my trigger points. This just puts me into total bed ridden pain. I have now started to explain to them that when they wake up in the middle of the night with a charlie horse do they rub and stretch it or go outside and run down the street. DUH?! This is a no brainer to me and yet I cannot understand for the life of me why they keep suggesting I do that. This has happened multiple times. I cannot find anyone out here in Dayton, OH that actually knows anything at all about trigger points or myofascial pain. They just want to quickly call if Fibromyalgia, when I would say that is the very least of my problems and would not even seek treatment for it.
Why I hate [most] Doctors; "chronicpainhurts" I hear& feel Your pain and I understand completely. I will tell the long story if anyone wants to hear it, but not into it now,[i'm hurtin']. The short of it is; Aug. 8, 2009, I was in mortal agony [new I was dieing!?} pain coming in waves, B.P. out'a sight, half lucid, half gonzo'. I managed 2 call My doctor, told him, best I could. He gave Me an appt. in 2 weeks. No way! I called a Cab [$60 one way] to Drs. office.only to be met by Fully Armed & Armored National Guard Soldiers and an Ambulance with engine idleing. I was forced at gunpoint into ambulance, strapped down, knocked out with drugs, taken to hospitol, given $2300 worth of Drugs i've never heard of, had My brain fried twice [they screwed up the first one] by an M.R.I. machine, an ended up in a Hospitol bed with 2 N.G. Troopers outside My door. [orders- "nobody in , nobody out"]... My Doctor told N.G.
Soldiers I was an "aggressive suicidal risk"! NOT A CHANCE ! ! !
SACOSAM I am I am ! ... and from the State of Maine I be... "away , away ,from "primary care" , be happy, You will see"! ... "I'm a poet ,don't know it , but feet show it"... they're "longfellows"... NEVERMIND !!
To All here let Me say find an N.P. [Naturopathic Physician]. If there are few in your State as there are in Mine, Try E-mail. "Julian Whitaker" is one [www.drwhitaker.com "]... [ "Dr. David Williams"] is another [www.drdavidwilliams.com] there are more.
Find a good Jewish doctor!! They are the BEST!!! I found a Holistic MD. Fantastic and he saved my life. If any of you live near Buffalo NY ask me and i will give his name. He is not allowed to take insurance cuz he treats "holistically". He takes cash or check and is WELL worth it to save your life. He does charge steep - $200 for one hr, $150 for 45 min, $100 for 30 min and $50 for 15 min. Most appts can be done in 15 minutes., but for the very first visit he asks abt an hour so he can get your whole medical history. He is Extremely Organized and the best there is!! He is a real Medical Doctor who is not Integrative. He is not opposed to drugs, but will try to treat you first holistically. He is extremely smart. You can email him a question and he will email you back Promptly like at 5 or 6 in the morning! He must get up at 4. Wow.
