I took Zoloft from 2019-2021 and weaned off early 2021 and was OK until now. Drug worked well for me but it was a rough ride to get to the right dosage which was 150 having started all the way at 25. Was hoping it might be easier to get back on now maybe start at 50 and work way up quicker? Thoughts?
Thinking about Zoloft for the 2nd time?

still start slow your receptors recharged in the time you were off of it. it`ll probably work well but it`s like really starting a new drug
I believe that starting with 25 mgs. would be safer for you regarding potential side effects and also for the drug to start building up in your system and for your organism to start adapting to Zoloft (Sertraline). Of course one wants for things to act faster for faster relief, but it does not always work that way. As you are aware with this SSRIs you , or most people (as everyone reacts differently to medications) start feeling an improvement by week 2 and for you to reach the full therapeutic effect of this antidepressant it may take 6 to 8 weeks.
So be patient, you will get there, it does take a bit of time and as I mentioned, one would like for things to act faster but not necessarily taking a higher dose in this early stage means Zoloft will work faster for you.
