I have been taking zydus 300mg of venlafaxine . It is out of stock and just started the same dosage by Teva. I take it in one dose in the morning and the teva brand I feel is too strong . Does anyone have any idea if teva is stronger than zydus or what generic I should try instead. I always have a problem switching generic brands.

Also my insurance will not pay for the name brand . Does anyone know if there’s a way to get them to do that ?

I've had very good luck at getting brand name medications for free by contacting the manufacturer. The manufacturer will often pay for your medication if you can't afford it. You may have to fill out a form or maybe get a note from your Dr or provide financial information. But it's a great resource for many. The amount of the drug in generics is the same as brand name Effexor but the inactive ingredients may differ. For instance, the inert ingredients in Zydus venlafaxine aren't the same as in Effexor. Different manufacturers may all use other binders, fillers, and colouring agents.
It's hard to suggest what else to try because it all depends how, as an individual, you respond to the product. You may have to try several before you find the one that works best for you.
As far as Effexor you could try calling Pfizer at 800 879-3477 and ask about savings programs they might have. Also, you could ask your pharmacist about GoodRx or other discount cards.

Thank you so much for the info .I know about the difference of the binders and fillers etc. it’s just so different for me whenever I am given a different generic. It’s also so hard to keep trying different ones when u feel terrible and still have to carry on your daily life. It’s very hard to do .
