I have a question.. Hoping someone can give me some advice.. I have been taking Clonazepam 1 mg.. Mylan.. Now Mylan is no longer making them.. I have been reading up to see if there is a difference between pills made by different manufactures.. Because I hate trying new pills.. Anyways I'm hoping someone can tell me what manufacturer/band I should try now? I plan on calling my doctor Tuesday but would like some input on it. Thanks
If you’ve Been on Mylan, Any other Clonazepam should be fine for you except accord. Accord might even be ok for you if you’ve been on Mylan. Mylan is the worst in my opinion.

Activas for now, then when Teva comes back get that brand
Thank you guys
Brand name then actavis actavis is weaker than brand name. If you switch from mylan to actavis prepare for major withdrawals. It’s beem 3 months since I switched .25 mg mylan to actavis and still not adjusted but if I take .125 extra I’m fine so might have to take more actavis. Stupid mylan
Kmj you won’t withdrawal? Does your hands and feet going numb for 2 weeks classify as withdrawal? Hands shaking constant headache, anxiety, depression, major appetite issues, nausea etc etc etc? Everyone is different worst withdrawals I’ve ever been through don’t speak on what you don’t know. I went through it
Thanks everyone.. I'm going to call my Pharmacy and talk to them also and find out about the binders and what he thinks.. also my doctor..
Thanks again everyone

I have seriously only been on two bad brands of Klonopin. Mylan brand, and accord. I just changed from sandoz to actavis and am doing fine. I was worried at first because I didn’t want to go through the withdraws like I did with Mylan, and the Mylan withdraws were many years ago, so maybe they have changed their formula since I had it last anyway. Actavis is working well for me, and I would recommend it compared to the others out there.
Thank you all
I’ve been on Klonopin for 22 years, and I now take 2.5 mgs a day. 1 at noon, .5 around 5 pm, and 1 mg around bed. I think the Mylans, and the accord are the worst. I’ve been on Sandoz for the last 10 years now with only a few different brands in between. I feel like I took the Actavis before I took Sandoz, and thought they were good. I’m going back to Actavis tonight because I can no longer get Sandoz, and refuse to take accord. I feel like my dosage and years of taking them I’ll be able to tell if the Actavis is good or not. I’ll let you know my thoughts tonight or when I wake up.
Please do let us know. I’m on accord and can usually sleep VERY well on just 1 mg of teva, now I’m on Accord and even at 1.5 I’m waking throughout the night!
I was terrified to change over from my Sandoz to actavis. I know that it’s only been 24 hours. But I had the best sleep I’ve had in years last night, and everything seemed fine today. No withdraw symptoms at all like I did with Mylan and accord. So far I’m almost thinking actavis may be one of the the better Klonopins I have had. I hope it stays this way. I’ll keep you updated if interested
Oh yes, please!
I’m not getting sleep at all like I used to, and having bipolar, that’s a recipe for high risk problems. Thank you!
You’re on the accord right?
Yes
Ok, so so far I’ve noticed my panic go up a little since changing over, but no withdraw effects like I got from accord, or Mylan. I could not fall asleep last night like the night before though. I’m just begging not to have to go through withdraws. Hopefully Actavis doesn’t cause it. It seems like within 24 hours of taking Mylan and accord I went into withdrawals. So far no withdraws. 36 hours almost of the change
I'm so glad I read your post because I am getting ready to switch to actavis as Accord was not working for me as well I hope actavis affect me as well as it affected you.
100% is Teva .. why they discontinued this product is beyond me! This is the best generic I have ever had! Please bring Teva back! It was foolish to discontinue this product.
They are going to, I called and it will take -4 months before it’s on shelves again though.
4 months?? So we are talking around September.. SMH .. they better never discontinue this again.. you can totally feel the difference .. I feel like Actavis is causing me to have anxiety rather than ease it.. I don't like this rapid heart beat .. I'm experiencing .. hopefully they will give us an update when they release their product.. this too much
August it will be back. Just keep calling them once a week. I’ll be calling them today. I’ll also report to the fda
1 mg has been released to all distributors but they have not yet made them available to pharmacies.
Really hoping the original green teva is back on shelves soon!!
I’ve have been on generic clonazepam for about 15 years. I take .5mg/day for anxiety disorders. It does pretty well but I still suffer. With that said, I have always used teva generics, until I had my first problem getting them in the Summer of 2018. Admittedly, I am very sensitive to medications and changes, partly due to the anxiety, partly due to the fact that it is a REAL change when you switch generics. Anyway, I tried Accord and Solco. Accord was terrible, Solco was bad, but not as bad. After a few weeks on Accord I thought I was going crazy and that I needed to be admitted into a mental facility... I didn’t realize I was going through withdrawals at the time. I then tried Solco, which was better, but I still felt terrible. My pharmacist was able to order the last bottle of teva available through ANY Walgreens, and I was immediately better and had a years+ supply on hand.
Now a year later, teva does not make them at all anymore, so they ordered actavis for me. I was a bit worried but with a good amount of teva still on hand, I was less nervous to make the switch. After about a week on Actavis I can happily say I think they are equivalent if not BETTER than teva. Now, I need to give it more time but so far so good! I think these are good generics and I believe they work quite well. I will keep you updated. Don’t be afraid of them!
To me taking the activist brand is like taking a low dose of melatonin. However I did call and they are bringing back the old formula they said it could take up to four months to be back on the shelves though. They gave me the phone number 1-888-838-2872 to put in a comment about how the formula is not working and you can tell them about the Affects it has had on you. If you look down or up one of the newer comments a kind person has put the number to where you can call and let them know the same information. But again they didn’t inform me the original formula would Be back on the shelves in 3 to 4 months. I am very thankful for this as it has not been fun. I encourage you to call as well to let them know.
Exactly Actavis do work it’s just hard to switch from a more effective brand like mylan for me. I just hope that if they bring Teva back they keep Actavis too. Call Teva and tell them to keep both people need choices. I took an extra .125 of Actavis the other day and felt much better so I know they work so please stop saying Actavis are no good Teva people.
But you had to take More to make it work? That’s not how it should be
Yes very true but I’ve taken mylan for 15 years. When I did the .25 brand to actavis it was 3-4 weeks of adjustment .25 mylan to actavis 3 months and still not adjusted. There’s obviously less clonazepam in the actavis and I had the same problem switching to Teva from mylan. Withdrawals. It’s all about what your body is used to and how much clonazepam you’re actually getting. Mylan was superior in my opinion
I’m at a week now on Activis. No problems. Same as teva, maybe slightly stronger. Still lasts a full 24 hours. Same sleep pattern. I’m going to take a teva tonight and see if I notice any difference after being on Actavis now. I will report back. So far so good.
Agreed with Raven411111, Mylan was the best but Actavis is doing the job superior to Teva... Teva did not worked for me at all... did less than a Benadryl but Actavis is getting the jon done.
I agree with Soflsun... Actavis has been so far so good... Mylan was my savior. Teva did nothing for me to the point that I had to be prescribed an emergency month of Xanax until Actavis came... my doctor was determined to write a prescription for brand Klonopin with NO SUBSTITUTIONS and a justification for insurance purposes but I tried Actavis and its working. So far so good.
1opinion I’m currently taking 3 different brands due to switching from mylan. I could not do another mylan to actavis switch so I did a .25 mylan to brand and had practically no withdrawals. Brand to actavis 3 weeks of withdrawals then it stared working. Brand for now then I may gradually switch to actavis to save $. Yes Mylan was superior sad they stopped making them what happened to helping people mylan? They just don’t get it.
Been taking Clonazepam for 5 years now, Teva was by far the best, but short acting. Since then, I have tried Mylan, Solco, Accord, and Activist. Since Activist bought Teva, I would say this is the best generic on the market. Solco is the absolute worst generic followed by mylan. Accord can be potent (for me the 1mg dose) but it appears Activist is superior. It is not the same as Teva which was the best, but it is not quite to the same quality level. If I had the option I would chose Activist or Accord, however, Accord, has a very potent sedation effect and is made I believe in China v.s. Teva which was from Israel. To those that think generics do not mater try telling me that after 5 yrs of trying every single generic on the market. Solco generic should not be given to any American in the United States it is straight up bunk.
Teva was by far the closest to the name brand you could get.
When I switched from mylan to actavis the withdrawals were 100 times worse than brand to actavis and only .25 mg at a time. In my opinion mylan was superior but I’ve always taken mylan so that could be a factor.
Yes Tdubzz Actavist is the best generic in the market at the moment... thankfully my body has been adapting to it like a charm... Accord was too strong for me and short lived more like a xanax, Accord made me sick and couldn't work... Actavist is way superior to Teva.
Teva was the best, I go out of my way to avoid accord. I just read sandoz was best generic. I will have a pharmacy that Dr. calls back it out if it’s accord. Accord makes me shake and if I cannot sleep a day’s dose of 1mg bid won’t do it with accord.
everyone needs to call Teva they are considering brings the old formula back out call teva USA and talk to customer service and also file a complaint with FDA
@shawnsem1-I’m calling about 2x per week... thanks for the reminder to...
KEEP CALLING TEVA Customer Service at 888-838-2872 (option #3 then option #5) for customer service to ask them to bring back TEVA old formula clonazepam ASAP
Don’t this, but there is no news on this. I doubt they will ever bring it back
Yes I also confirmed with Teva that they are bringing them back in 3-4 months which is dumb I’m trying to get used to actavis from mylan then I’ll have to switch to Teva if they stop actavis stupid
I have definitely filed a complaint with the FDA.
Since I no longer have the TEVA brand bottles, I hope I can google their customer service number! ... unless you can provide it to me?
All I have now are the Acctiva bottles.
Gosh, I Really hope they bring the true formula back. I don’t like what I currently have been suffering through (along with everyone else!) in the slightest.
Actavis work just fine once your body gets used to them. Stop giving Actavis a bad wrap if you want tevas back that’s fine but Actavis is working for me. Takes time to adjust people but nowhere near as potent as mylan. Mylan was superior.
I totally agree with you. I do not like this Teva that they have brought back!!! Make both and stop messing with people's mental health!!!
I've been taking the actavis Klonopin for a month and a half. And I swear that I'm getting more and more nauseous. It's the only thing that's changed in my diet and my meds for a month and a half. Is anybody else have this issue
It’s likely because there are gaba receptors in your stomach and it’s used to getting what you were taking. I’m switching over slowly .25 every 4-8 weeks and it’s still rough. My body aches so much right now but first change was the same however it did go away.
It’s the Actavis brand - three days after my first prescription I had the same problem. It quit immediately when I changed brands.
The problem is Teva bought Actavis and only sells Actavis version. Qualitest bought Solco and sells Qualitest pills labeled as Solco and they are not as effective. Accord is also not that great. The pharmacist said that these are the only brands available now and none work very well.
Curtc I don’t think it’s the actual brand that doesn’t work it’s that your body is used to the fillers in what you usually take and how the body metabolizes it. I’m
switching over .25 at a time and it’s hard but eventually my body adjusts. I’m in the middle of my second switch as I type anxiety under control but body aches head hurts. Same as first switch but it went away.
Talked to TEVA rep and they said they are bringing back TEVA old formula clonazepam but they don’t know when.
ALL CALL TEVA customer service at 888-838-2872 option #3 then option #5 (customer service) to demand that they bring it back soon!
Klonz
I don’t know who you talked to however I don’t think that’s the case. They told me they are not going to bring back Teva and they are also not going to stop Actavis. Maybe they just told you that to make you feel better? I don't know but that’s what I was told when I complained about effectiveness between Mylan.
I've discovered that my symptoms were due to the color dye and not the drug. Switched to a clonazepam that is yellow and nauseated feelings and gut problems, aches and pains went away. Actavis is using Red dye #30 made with cold tar.
Been having problems with Actavis with the generic name for clonazepam. My promise has been telling me that there have been having complaints about the generic Actavis for clonazepam, to meet Teva is it better medication I've been taking for some time now maybe about 17 years now but now since I started taking Actavis generic name for the clonazepam 1mg it doesn't work at all I've been on it for now 10 days need your help
From my experience so far your body just has to get used to it. I switched .25 with activas and it took about 10 days stabilize held for a month. Now I switched another .25 5 days in and slowly improving. My body aches so much but it goes away in time
Actavis is working superior to Teva
Hi All,
Sadly my attempts to obtain TEVA clonazepam have ended in failure and I’m at the end of the line with no more TEVA left.
My question is whether or not people like Roche/Genentech brand Klonopin better or the Actavis generic better. I’ve tried all but Actavis and am looking to get as close to that good, stabilizing, sedating anti-anxiety effect that TEVA gave me. Also, how long should I give a new generic/brand to take effect?
Thanks to all.
Hi all. TEVA truly is considering bringing back the old formula clonazepam as I talked to a customer service rep about it around 4/1/19.
ALL CALL TEVA customer service at 888-838-2872 (option #3 then option #5) for customer service to demand they bring back the old formula ASAP due to Actavis being bad and potential liability to TEVA
I want to thank you for posting this. I did call and they informed me that the original formula of teva Would be back on the shelves soon. It could take up to four months but said it is coming back. So thank you again for the number very helpful. They also gave me the number 1-888-838-2872 to call and file a complaint because I do keep records of th would be back on the shelves soon. It could take up to four months but said it is coming back. So thank you again for the number very helpful. They also gave me the number 1-888-838-2872 to call and file a complaint because I do keep records of allthat call If you did not have that number already. Have a great day
I just filled a Rx for clonazepam and saw it was made by Accord. My pharmacist knew I had requested no Accord! She now has ordered from Teva and will swap my pills tomorrow for the Teva brand. I hope they work.
I been taking blue melt in your mouth with a minty sweet taste that dissolve fast but kick in great. Made by Solco Health.
Today I got Actavis, doesn't melt, bitter, but after an hour It's working ! ! !
I have taken a lot of generic s over the years can’t tell one from the otherwise
I’ve been taking Teva for 2 years, and now all pharmacies are out if it :( I tried Actavis last year and did not find it helpful, I use it to control siezures and anxiety attacks. They started to creep back. I don’t have another choice... did anyone find something that helped? Did upping the dosage of Actavis help?
I take them for the same reason. You have to let the pharmacy and your doctor if that doesn’t work, let them know how much of a difference it is. Actavis didn’t help me at all, it was like taking a low dose of melatonin. I called around and found a manufacturers accord and Solco help A LOT better. I feel it’s not the same or as helpful as Teva was, but it definitely helps, for me at least. Everyone is different. I go through CVS as of right now , still at least, I just always call before hand and had them note my account. But again, always call first. Hope this helps! Good luck! (They do not make Teva anymore)
I havent tried the accord brand. My doctor is putting me on the name brand, but my insurance is fighting it. No one at the pharmacy is helpful, they just say “ that’s what we get”. No care that a brand isn’t working. Which work for you? Do you take an anticonvulsant too? I take keppra.
I take keppra too. I was also on Depakote but only heard bad things about it. My Dr. switch my Keppra to the extended release twice a day. Also on Zonamide, (sp?) (close to Topamax) Thankfully I haven’t had a seizure in a year, almost to date. The one month of only having the activas, I felt miserable (sometimes I can tell when they are coming on and sometimes I can’t) but either way my anxiety skyrockets! I have GAD as well. So made it extra horrible for me. I’m going to talk to my Dr. too about getting put only on the name brand, but I know my insurance will fight that! I already pay out of pocket for what I am prescribed. But also, going to ask my Dr. to note the prescription if anything, to Not allow that brand. So far, I’ve been lucky enough to adjust and find different. It’s also hard, because most people say there’s not a difference between generic and name brand. Which could not be more wrong!! Not to mention adjusting to the new generic brand (headaches until I’m used to it) .
Teva definitely better. When I took the other for my anxiety disorder it was basically like taking a low amount of melatonin. Did not help at all, waiting til the next month was horrible!
Ive been switched every 2 months here lately. Went from Teva to Accord to Actavis and now on some brand that starts with a S. The actavis wasn't as bad as I thought. I actually had pills left when it was time for refill.
Yeah teva was the best, they messed up stopping
It’s really about what your body is used to and how it breaks it down with the fillers. I’m switching my dose .25mg at a time and going through mild initial withdrawal but my body is adjusting in 10 days.
I went from Teva, to actavis, (probably spelled that wrong, back to teva because I found it calling pharmacies, then several months on accord, I take 4 1mg a day, Accord wasn’t as helpful as the original Teva brand was but it helped and wasn’t nearly as bad as the Activas was so I was okay with it. This month I just got Solco. Don’t remember having this one before, but I’ve only taken one dose of it so far, but that one dose worked, just a slight headache again after it started wearing off. I didn’t notice that with accord or original Teva brands. Hopefully I won’t have a big issue. I know a lot of people and drs act like they are the same just generic, but I think most of us know that’s not true. Especially since you can tell a huge difference between different generic brands (activas and Teva) anyone have any opinions on Solco brand? First time I’ve heard of it. Or have had it I believe. Thanks .
Came across this post because Mylan stopped manufacturing clonazepam and I’ve beem taking Mylan for years so now I’m going through a brand change currently. Tevas never worked for me when I couldn’t find mylans for a few days and I had to do a full switch for about 4 days to brand name until Mylans were in stock and I was going through really bad withdrawal didn’t feel right at all on the verge of a panic attack laying in bed holding on for dear life however once I took a single Mylan I felt fine. Long story short you can imaging the fear I felt when I called Mylan to make sure it was just behind in production but then the lady tells me they discontinued them
Yeah all but activas and accord is available. I was on teva for 10 years went through withdrawal with accord, then got teva again then they switched to activas, it’s not super bad but Is what it is.
Sorry I guess the rest of my
post did not make it. I was just stressing to switch brands slowly if possible. Thankfully I have a year to switch from Mylan to Activas but Activas are working well for me only switched out .25mg 6 days ago.
Thanks
How does one switch from one brand to another? Can I take one brand in the morning and the other brand at night and eventually my body will get used to the new brand?
