I tried tapering last year about this time and I did it slowly but I still experienced severe food cravings that I couldn’t control and gained a bunch of weight so I went back on and this year I really want to try. Has anyone else experienced this? I’ve been taking 400 mg for 15 years.

Hi, SRL!
This is very unusual since any appetite changes that may occur during bupropion withdrawal are usually nausea and loss of appetite. Did you try your discontinuation under the supervision of your doctor? I would ask them for advice.
Just out of curiosity has the medication been effective for you? Why do you want to stop it?
Hi there
I didn’t do under a supervision of a doctor. Mine had retired and I hadn’t found another one yet. I found a new one and she just sent me a letter saying she’s moving and wouldn’t be available anymore. So I need to find someone else yet again. I want to stop using this drug because I have weighed the costs and benefits and find I will be better off not taking it. Thanks for your reply!
