Dont' be suprised if your body chemistry is readjusting and becoming resistant to the Zoloft. This occurs very frequently with these types of meds.I know from experience that a med can work for years and then it either needs to be changed to something else, or as your Dr has done, upped the doseage. The Dr may decide that you need to accompany the Zoloft with another med to keep your anxiety at a healthy level.
Hi, since you have been on it for 3 years, it should not take no more then 1 week before you start feeing some relief from the anxiety, after 2 weeks you should feel much better! Hope this helps
Kelly is right, I'm a RN and after two weeks you should feel better!!
Thank you. I was on 50 mgs and then upped to 75 mgs. I have been on 75 mgs for 5 days. I am feeling a little better. Have you seen people get better going from 50 to 75 (after 3 years) and 75 working? Thank you both
Yes I have a couple of friends that had to go up in dosage, and it worked great from what they said, my one girlfriend has anxiety and went up from 50mg to 100mg and she felt better within a week, how are you doing on it?
Hi Kelly,
Thank you for getting back to me. I am still not myself, especially in the morning. Yesterday afternoon I felt great only to wake up with it this AM again. I can't wait for it to disappear. I have been walking, etc. Almost wondering if my dr. may want to up it more as I see him this week.
Hi, I hope you feel better soon, you should speak to your doc about this and tell him if your not feeling better by the time you see him, he shouldn't put you on a higher dose that quick if your still like this since he just raised your dose. Best of luck and speak to him so he can help you feel better:-)
It can take several weeks for the chemicals in your brain to gradually rise and reduce your anxiety.
Generally you should allow for 4 to 6 weeks. All the best.
