i am prescribed 200 mg of Seroquel at bedtime, however lately i have been dozing myself and taking 400 mg. is that bad? i can’t seem to fall asleep with just one dose. however i’ve noticed swelling in my ankles. i do have type one diabetes, so not sure if that’s apart of it.
Does taking more of my Seroquel bad for me? dosing myself per say?

Do not self medicate, contact your Dr. and let him/her adjust the dose you are on.
Do inform your Dr. about the swelling of your ankles and all relevant information.
Hi, mercedesmarie!
You should never adjust the dosage of a medication without your doctor's knowledge and supervision.
Potential side effects of Seroquel include elevated glucose levels and peripheral edema so if your current dose isn't getting you to sleep you have to talk with your doctor and get their professional advice.
I did not see your answer, if I had, I would have left it to you! lol
Have a nice day.
Ha Ha!!! It happens often because we're both online at the same time and we overlap.
Take care, my friend.
How does a person even ask a question on here? I don't see the option? Nevertheless, I did that years ago, updosed myself. My Dr. had me on 200mg of seroquel. I went up to 400mg. It knocked me out. I was put on for sleep. I hope you get to good place with the medication. Nevertheless, I have taken myself down to 45mg. Really want off the drug. It has caused more problems than good. If anyone has some good advice on how to taper the rest of safely and have success please let me know.

The best advice is professional advice from your health care provider. The internet is not the place to get information that could be dangerous to your health.
