I have been on 4 10 mg for three days today started 3 10 mg for three days Will be decreasing to 2 10 mg and finally 1 10 mg each 3 days. I have not had a bowl movement for 2 days and have taken 3 stool softeners for two days 300mg. Any suggestions helpful.

I am taking 15 mg. of prednisone presently for polymyalgia rhumatica, and because of hip replacement and arthritis in other hip will be on prednisone for a while. For constipation am drinking a lot of water..8 glasses a day..prunes..4 a day..sometimes bran buds cereal. Seem to have constipation under control.
After hip replacement used stool softener because of iron supplement... big issue there for constipation for a month! It takes a while to kick in and you can take extra if not helping right away I was told. The prunes and water are doing the trick now. Good luck
