I had colon surgery 4 years ago. My colon literally ripped in two from severe constipation & diverticulitis. I take Relistor injections (which is a opioid blocker). Miralax, senna, mineral oil used on occasion. I feel like I just need to get cleaned out. Will Magnesium Citrate pills do that? Years ago I was prepping for a colonoscopy & they had me get Magnesium Citrate to drink. I couldn't tolerate the taste & vomited so I would have to use pills. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I thought it was important to note that since I was 2, I've had severe issues with constipation. I was often in the emergency room, screaming in pain. I agree that pain meds can cause constipation. I also know, I had this severe constipation before ever taking pain pills for my diseases. That's why I'm on Relistor. Thanks againM

The magnesium citrate liquid has come a long ways in taste. It's not nearly as nasty as it used to be. I get the lemon flavor and get it really cold than drink it , the pills work but not nearly as well. I would definitely try this again if your in misery.

have you tried mineral oil enemas ?? they worked for me when i had diverticulitis

I tried enemas when I had abdominal hernia surgery 2 years ago. Used 3 and they didn't work. However I think it was saline enemas. I'm excited to see if mineral oil enemas work for me. Thank you so much ch for suggesting! Really appreciate it!

youre welcome ,i had to get mineral ol enemas around age 14 when i got diverticulitis and chroic constipation,mineral oil enemas cause less cramping then saline
