Last year I was having the same problem keeping my blood pressure down with Lisinopril/HCTZ 20mg/12.5mg alone in the morning, so my doctor added on an additional Lisinopril 10mg to take every evening. This additional dosage has been sufficient enough to keep my blood pressure stable.
Also I’ve read some studies that show dosing Lisinopril at night vs morning had a greater effect on lowering blood pressure. I hope this helps.
Generally this drug is taken once a day. However the doctor may have his her reason for splitting the dose. You can always ask your pharmacist. 30 total mg is not too high a dose. I was on 40 mg once a day. Good luck to you!
