I was taking the Lisinopril 10mg in the morning and cholesterol medicine at night. That's the only meds I take besides a low dose aspirin. The pharmacist recommended taking my bp medicine at night, but my doctor at the time said I could take it either time. Some of the articles I've read say taking it at night may lower my bp too much if I'm a " dipper", some said it depends on the medication. I'm not sure what to do.
When is the best time to take Lisinopril, morning or night?

I take my Lisinopril in the morn at the same time each day. I find it slows me down during the day.
This is what my cardio wants me to do. I still exercise and am on a diet. I gained 22 lbs in one year
Now I need to lose the weight, but in a safe manner. Not to overdo the exercise routine.
I know this is old but for anyone who reads it. The. Pharmacist is right
Take it at night. Its much better for u overall in my humble opinion. I dont usually right answers on these things but ive seen alot of questions about this and feel unshould share my personal experience with it. Hopefully it helps someone else -
Its a long affect drug. If you take it at night it helps controls ur blood pressure while u sleep but when u wake up the affects are still there. Then if u go work out or go about ur day ur blood pressure can go up and down depending on what u do. Like normal -And then by night u take it again. It also helps with side affects since ur sleeping u dont get them. (Dizziness / lightheadedness etc) also people underestimate how much stress u can get in sleep and dreaming. Ur blood pressure can go up high while sleeping. Thats why people have strokes in their sleep or die in their sleep from heart attacks. Because u cant control it. Like u can if u were awake.
U could say try to stop thinking about whats stressing u out and go for a walk. Or go workout or do anything to take ur mind of it.
Anyways the half life of the drug is 12hrs that means it works all day the first 12 more then the 2nd. So taking it at night gives u more affect while sleeping but still get some during the day. But overall controlling ur blood pressure in a much more manageable way.
Just remember to take it. Lol set an alarm for when u have a few drinks so u dont forget. Take care stay healthy. Remember even 30 mins of healthy exercise per day can lower ur blood pressure by more then u think. And changing what u eat
My blood pressure was holding at 155/110 for a year. I felt like I was guna die id wake up lightheaded and stressed feeling like I was guna pass out - and that lasted through the day with periods of being ok
I started working out everyday at first just 30 mins. Then working up to about an hour / hour 20 a day. In the morning. I changed my diet alittle. No more cheese /saturated fats and carbs(bread pasta) and started eating more salads and fish and avacados ( healthy fats) And my blood pressure is now about 125/80 every morning after my workout.
I take 15mg of lisinopril every night at bed
Good luck to anyone who finds this !!!
