I've been on metoprolol for over 6 years for SVT. I take the succinate ER 50mg in the evening. I'm a 64 year old female. I have put on about 15 pounds and I'm always tired. I have no motivation at all. I mainly want to sit or sleep.
During these 6 years I have been put on Zoloft for anxiety. I'm taking 75mg.
I'm curious if at this point if I can consider lowering my metoprolol? Six years ago I was going through some major emotional issues dealing with an ill sibling. He has since passed away and things have calmed. That's when they discovered my SVT.
I'm tired of being tired. And now my cholesterol numbers are up as well as my A1C. I know this has a lot to do with being sedentary too much. Do I need to be on meds forever for SVT? Just curious if anyone has advice.
Thank you!

With regards to your medication (s), I advice you to speak with your Dr. so you can discuss the possibility for the discontinuation/dose adjustment of Metoprolol, and also discuss the use of your antidepressant and how a dose adjustment may possibly benefit you or not.
Regarding your cholesterol a good medication for managing it is Crestor (rosuvastatin), but first ask your Dr. about a possible cholesterol medication which may suit you best or if Crestor is a good choice for you (as everyone reacts differently to medications).
