Hi, wow, I am having surgery too, left hip replacement, May 28 and will have opioids for a period of time. I already did some research as I was afraid of that also. What I read said you could take your anxiety medication right up till surgery. They actually can give you a sedative to relax you if you are freaking out, which I suspect I will be. I would definitely get more information. And good luck with your surgery... will be thinking of you...
Thanks so much for your answer! It helps. What did you find out about taking Klonopin with opioids after surgery.? Interesting... My surgery is May 17th and I am having a total shoulder replacement. Good luck to us both!
Hi, after surgery is more confusing. My stepson works in orthopedic surgery as a technician, I will be getting hold of him to see what he says. He works with my surgeon and knows I am on clonazepam for life for reasons that are necessary. So maybe someone else replies that has been through it. Definitely can take it up to surgery.
Hope your surgery goes well. I am now 8 days post-op and seem to be recovering well despite lack of energy. By the way, I took opioids a few hours before or after Klonopin and did fine. Doctors were fine with it.
Thanks, was wondering about you...
My surgeon also said not to worry. 3 more days... Glad you came through okay. Long live klonopin.
