Can Nortriptyline 5mg be safely taken with Zopiclone 3.75mg?

My family doctor has prescribed Nortriptyline 5mg with Zopiclone 3.75mg. But a hospital doctor who visits the same medical centre says that I should get off the Zopiclone as soon as possible. I am about to reach my 88th birthday.
