Hi everyone, I started taking Lexapro for anxiety 1.5 weeks ago. Doctor started me off on 5mg, which gave me horrible nausea, sweats, headache and mild breathing issues for hours. The next day, after talking to doctor, I reduced to 2.5mg and felt no symptoms at all. I did that for a few more days, then increased to 5mg, and now I'm on Day 2 of 10mg, all with absolutely no side effects. It's been 1.5 weeks. I'm usually very sensitive to meds but aside from first day, I've had no side effects at all. Wondering if this is too good to be true, do you think there's any chance the intense summer heat reduced the efficacy of the drug? On the first few days I was taking it, we had really bad 36 degree Celsius days in Sydney (around 97 fahrenheit) and my apartment isn't air conditioned. Recommended storage is under 30 degrees (86 fahrenheit). The doctor's receptionist and the pharmacist both said it wouldn't make a difference but I'm not confident of that. Sorry for long post. Any thoughts would be welcome, thanks so much!
Did the summer heat ruin my Lexapro?

To clarify, I've kept them in the blister packet, not transferred to a bottle, and stored in kitchen cabinet.

Hi, Dani!
Your medication was humidity protected which is more important than heat so I wouldn't worry. The fact that you're not having side effects is a happy aside... most people don't have them especially if they give enough time for their metabolisms to adjust to the medication. Enjoy!
I took Lexapro for over 7 years with no more than a headache and slight nausea for the first couple of days.
