I felt relief within a few days of starting but then after 4 weeks the symptoms started again. Has anyone else had this happen and needed to increase the dosage even when at first it worked? Wondering why this would happen when getting to full potency. It’s frustrating to feel this way again.
I started mirtazapine 15mg 4 weeks ago and felt great. Now not so much. Any advise?

It's common for the effectiveness of antidepressants like mirtazapine to fluctuate over time. If you've noticed a change in how you're feeling after initially feeling great, it could be due to various factors. Sometimes, the body adjusts to the medication, leading to a decrease in its initial impact.
It's essential to discuss these changes with your health care provider. They might consider adjusting your dosage, switching medications, or exploring other treatment options. Additionally, factors like lifestyle changes, stress, or other medications can also influence how you're feeling.
Don't hesitate to reach out to your health care provider for guidance and adjustments to ensure you're getting the most effective treatment for your well-being.
Hi, Xrt! Not to worry... you'll be good again soon and probably even better than you were. Many people have this "roller coaster" effect early on as their metabolisms are still adjusting to the drug. Sometimes it resolves on it's own in a week or so but after four weeks you might want to ask your doctor's advice about an possible increase in dosage. You've obviously been responding to the medication and maybe you just need a little boost. It's not uncommon and you're still at a low dose... you could go up as much as to 45mg/day if you needed to.
Thank you! I was able to see my doctor last night and he did increase my dosage to 30mg. He also told me to have PATIENCE. He is getting me for sure because I want things to be better immediately. I had some anxiety and am on Lexapro which had controlled things for over 16 years. Then out of nowhere I had symptoms come up. We added the new medication and when it seemed to work so quickly, I just wanted to be the end. I have a great life, no worries, and love everything I do so to try and work on issues causing it, even with professional help, has concluded it’s most likely a chemical imbalance of some sort that hopefully medication can “fix” once we find the right combination. I thank you for your kind encouragement and I will pray for your good health since I happen to have a great amount of faith to go along with my impatience lol.
I hope you're feeling better. Has the increased dose helped? Are you taking another medication alongside of it?
I too have nothing situational causing my symptoms... I've been on 15mg of mirtazapine for almost 4 months. My depression and anxiety seemed to have surfaced again. Was feeling amazing up until now. I started 30mg last night. I'll give it a go and keep praying as well.
