My BP average is 145/85 and hasn't gone down. I also have had a day or two where it went to 160-170. I was on a diuretic and it controlled my BP well, but urinary side effects caused me to request another drug. So far I am disappointed. How much time do I need to give it to see if it will reduce my BP at this dosage?
I have just started 5mg 5 days ago. How long does it take for Lisinopril to begin to work?

Lisonopril usually start working 1hr after taken by mouth, it's peak effect is 6 hours after tking.
The first dose should have had an effect on it. Its not a drug you need to build up a blood level. You are on a very low dose tho, and most likely need it increased.
