I take .125mg of klonopin as needed, only about once a week, to avoid panic attacks. How long after I take the drug would it be safe to drink? I know most people say to never ever drink on benzos, but I'm sure with such a small dose it should be out of my system in a few days.
Small dose as needed klonopin and alcohol?

Klonopin leaves your system in 20-40 hours, however if you are taking benzoson any level you should not be consuming alcohol at all. Not ever. You are playing a very dangerous game and risking developing a cross tolerance to both alcohol and benzos and the risk of death is extreme. If you drink too much and there is klonopin in your system you will never know, you just won't wake up. That is why you never ever drink on klonopin. You won't know when it's too late.
I'm having the same problem I used to be on half a milligram of Klonopin as needed then I decided to take it upon myself to start taking a half a milligram every night then I took it upon myself to start taking a milligram at night then I took it upon myself to start taking a milligram in the morning and a milligram at night now I have multiple sclerosis and my neurologist UPS my Klonopin to 2 in the morning two in the afternoon and at night I still drink but if I do I limit it to about six seven or eight beers and I don't take any Klonopin that day
They say it takes 8 hours to start going through alcohol withdrawal so 8 hours from your last drink I would say it's safe to take Klonopin and I would also say it works vice versa 8 hours after your last Klonopin dose I would believe it would be safe to drink alcohol
It is recommended not to drink w/Clonazepam. However, I take 1 mg Clonazepam & occasionally have 2 glasses of wine. I drink the wine w/dinner & take the Clonazepam at bedtime & it has never been a problem. You should be fine if you don't overdo the booze & have food in your belly. I suppose that I take the Clonazepam about 3-4 hrs after drinking. I have a fair tolerance to liquor, I don't have much body weight on me, & I take a stronger dose of Clonazepam than you do, but we are all different. The med bottle says that mixing w/alcohol can decrease mental alertness & increase drowsiness. It does not say avoid alcohol as the label on Wellbutrin does for example.
Hi, there is so much variation in the consideration of the half life of Klonopin, some say 30 - 40 hours, some say 18 - 50 hours, and some saying up to 60 hours. So it is really difficult to advise you on how long it with take for the medication to be out of your system? You are taking a low dose which reduces the risk for interaction with alcohol. I really have to advise you to ask advice from a doctor. Sorry i couldn't help
