I've had mine in since Oct 2011 after my son was a few months old .its now Nov 2015 its been 4 years since then .I would like to know the side effects of expired implanon after 4 years .I do plan on taking it out my job just recently provided me with insurance I'm waiting for it to go thru I would love to have it out .
What are the side effects of expired implanon ?

JANIS; please use back up or have him use a condom your too far out with the exp date and don't want to take any chances. And get it replaced or removed when you can but you can't rely on it for sure.

The implanon will not cause any infection or adverse reactions if left like that.
It might just stop giving contraceptive cover and you may get pregnant. Thats all. There are no other risks.
