Hi, my doctor has given this to me over a week ago starting at .06mg, and I have been too afraid to try it. I can not stand having an upset stomach, or nausea so I have been holding back. I would love to lose weight, and more importantly, get my numbers under control. Is it intolerable? When is it best to take it? I work 8:30-10:00 so I haven't had a good window to try it.
How sick does Victoza make you when you start?

Other than a little redness at the injection site, I had no reaction at all. Everyone's different but Metformin was worse for me. It doesn't matter when you take it
My doctor has increased my Metformin from 2 a day to 4 a day , along with my nova rapid and my lantus . I have been on my metformin for two years and no side effects for me, but this victoza is something else.
I am on victoza and so far I have taken two injections,, I am worried about the nausea as well,,, Today I had it for the first time and it lasted about and hour, I hate being sick to my stomach so I know what you mean,, They saw ginger is good for nausea but I haven't tried it yet,,, Jùst wanted to let you know that your not alone,, I'm worried too,, but I do so want to lose weight and get my numbers down,, Its really expensive and I was told it will get more expensive later on,, Take care,,
Well I have progressed from the nausea and headache to vomiting,, Not happy at all and I am only beginning with this,,
I didn't have nausea when I took Victoza. I did have what I call "the nasty belchies" a lot and occasionally diarrhea. Also some indigestion, but not enough to make me want to stop. Unfortunately, I didn't lose weight, but it did control my diabetes very well. I eventually had to change meds because of insurance issues. I used to take it in the morning because I was still using Lantus at night, but you can use it any time of day.
