I have, in the past, taken both at the same time for sleep. I've had problems with sleep for a long time and need strong stuff. It had worked for me in the past. I can no longer take trazadone, but I still take the hydroxyzine to help with sleep.
If you so concerned you might want to go back and ask your doctor why he prescribed at the same time.
If you need something strong talk to your dr about Remeron I have bad insomnia and Remeron was the one that finally gave me great sleep and I felt rested when I woke in the morning
Hello JACKSPRATSR. Yes, both are going to sedate you and certainly help you to fall asleep. But given the combination, once you take the two, its not advised to drive, do anything that requires any of your cognitive abilitiy. Trazodone is an antidepressant which is sedative by its substance. For some years now, its more often than not prescribed to help with sleep, and done so that unlike the benzodiazepine family of sleeping drugs, is generally accepted as not as being as addictive. I did say the word "as". Some people have a heck of a time to stop taking Trazadone when its time to do so. Best wishes to you, pledge
I've been prescribe both at the same time, I did'nt find either particularly strong, usually there are dosed out where you can either one or two tablets so just try one of each the first night and see how yoy feel. KCG
