Hello! I experienced this same issue. It has been a year for me as well and I have been off birth control for a year now. Nexplanon to be exact. I would caution against vitex because some people say it is a libido suppressor. So please do your research and be careful. I am currently trying to add maca powder to my water and hoping that will work. Will keep you updated, and thanks for sharing!
Look into Vitex. It'll rebalance your hormones within a few months. You might need to take it for a while.
Sorted me out after the contraceptive injection.
You can't use it if you're using hormonal birth control, though. They'd work against each other.
I also use Evening Primrose Oil & vitamin B6 alongside it, for PMS.
Thank you I will look in to that . Could my hormones still be imbalanced nearly a year later ? Just scared it’s changed something in me
Oh absolutely they could! Mine were so out of balance 2 years after the injection, I went back on it to settle things, as I didn't know about that product, & everything the doctors tried, failed.
It basically supports your liver after all the chemicals in the hormonal contraceptives & elsewhere. Helps you rebalance things.
Thank you so much feel so much better will try this X
If you can, get high dose Vitex. Liquid capsules are even better.
I'd honestly suggest hitting it with all 3 things I mentioned (high dose evening primrose oil, (I take 1000mg of that twice a day), & a B6 tablet daily).
Give it 6 months, but I reckon you'll see benefits sooner.
You might also like to research for yourself some natural aids for libido, such as Tribulus, & Maca. There's stacks of plants you could try, so definitely don't worry. You'll get it improved.
Thank you very much you have really put my mind at rest I’m going to try ASAP x
You're v welcome.
I stopped using any hormonal birth control after all the trouble I had. I use the rhythm method/natural cycles now. A bit tricky for the first couple of months, but easier once you get the hang of it.
I hope you feel better soon.
