I had a 60# weight gain, a highly elevated cholesterol panel, and pre diabetic glucose level when taking this med. I went off of Seroquel and started Lithium. I lost about 20#, but just can't seem to lose any more. With he help of Zocor (a statin), and a change in diet, now have a very good lipid panel. However my glucose is still in the pre diabetic range. These are just my results. We all react differently to meds. I have to avoid antipsychotics because of the side effects.
How did you get off of Seroquel? Yes the side effects are bad.
Actually, I really had no withdrawal problems or side effects from discontinuing the Seroquel. I have tapered off other meds that were awful experiences. My experience in withdrawal from 600 mgs of Seroquel was uneventful. Good luck to you.
It’d great that you didn’t have any withdrawal. How did you get off the meds?
My Dr. tapered me off. It wasn't a long taper like Paxil. That was horrible for me. Cutting pills into little pieces, and rather long period of time to be completely off. Also, feeling awful. Seroquel was nothing like that. You shouldn't be concerned too much. Although we all know that everyone reacts differently. Just my experience.
