I recently went to the dermatologist because my mom is hoping for my face and back to clear up before m sophomore year of high school. I've been to the dermatologist a few times, and my mom and I have constantly discussed Acutane, because she took it herself. We agreed that I wouldn't take it until I was over 16, because my mom is afraid of how much it could harm my kidneys. I'm wondering if there is any truth to my mom's and my fear?
Is there a risk of Accutane harming your kidneys?

No - Accutane is not known to harm the kidneys. If you have existing kidney problems you may need to have your dose lowered initially..

"No - Accutane is not known to harm the kidneys"... except PubMed (NCBI) studies show there to be a link between not only kidney damage/disease but also liver damage, frontal brain lobe damage, bowel disease, etc. Funny how all studies by medical institutions defend the use of all medications while all independent studies demonstrate their link to damage and disease. For friggin crying out loud, accutane is proven to cause severe birth defects and infant death! Its a chemotherapy drug designed to cause cell death! Has society become so sheepishly brainwashed that they have no discernment of what is evil?
Suzanne you have NO IDEA what you are talking about. You are probably paid by some big pharma company. I took Accutane (generic version) for about 5 months and now it has been a year, my skin is better but no where clear and I have debilitating lower back pain which I'm positive will show up in my doctor's visit tomorrow as a kidney or liver issue caused by Accutane. I am also exhausted, have stomach issues and have had vision issues as of this week. The lower back pain has gotten progressively worse as of the past month. Going to doc tomorrow to do bunch of blood work and hoping I can find a way to deal with it and work a full 8 hr work day.
SamSam17 I specifically created this account to ask what happened with you. I've been having trouble breathing, loss of coordination and blurred vision for a week now, I went to the ER last week and they told it's anxiety (since it is something reoccurring with me). However, the next day I started having tremors and loss of appetite (That's 6 days now). Oh yeah and the lower right side of my back started hurting yesterday. I honestly feel like I'll be wasting ER physicians' time but I'm worried and wanted to see if anyone has the same symptoms
