While I had my implanon that was common, I only would have one period a year. Nothing really to worry about
Girlystuff; this is pretty normal, I have a copy and past from our drug site here but if the bleeding or Migraine continues contact your doctor to make sure all is okay. How often do you get the migraines.? Please read this from drugs . com and if your still worried give the office a call.
(( You will most likely have irregular and unpredictable periods while using the Implanon implant. Tell your doctor if your periods are very heavy or long-lasting, or if you miss a period (you may be pregnant). If you need surgery or medical tests or if you will be on bed rest, you may need to have your Implanon implant removed for a short time. Any doctor or surgeon who treats you should know that you have an Implanon implant.
The Implanon implant must be removed by the end of the third year after it was inserted and may be replaced at that time with a new implant. If you choose not to replace the implant)))))
Hope that give you a little comfort this is all normal but if it continues give your doctor a call today or Monday if your still having a period. Chuck1957,
Hi, I actually have the same question, but my period went back after almost 2 years of not having it. My 2nd baby is turning 2 yrs old this September and I had my period back a few days ago. I had migraine as well. I can remember having spotting before. Is this normal? Is this an indication that I'm back to being fertile?
kataobanil; Evening better being safe than anything as the info. above says it is common to have a period from time to time with this implant, How long has it been since you had this one put in? And mainly if the period is longer than a normal period or more painful. You should call the doctor's office and let them know. As I was telling someone the other day don't wait until the full 3 years get it replaced or use a different type back up system if in doubt, But as long as it's more like a normal period this can happen and it still be effective, But the only way to tell is have the doctor check. Or if anything is different about the period such as clotting darker color etc. Check with your doctor. Hope that helps you some. But you never know for sure depending on how close to the 3 year period that it is suppose to be in place. (AND EFFECTIVE) chuck1957
