Can anyone share their experience on taking both of these medications?
I'm nearly 8 weeks on 20mg and even though I feel improvements in my anxiety, my mood is all over the place. Especially in the morning. Waking at 5am and just feeling restlessness and low mood.
I think I need additional support and have read Seroquel can help with antidepressants.
I feel like I don't start feeling "normal" until late afternoon/evening.
I am a mum of 2 small children and I really need to get back to somewhere close to myself.

Try reducing your dose of seroquel to help with the hangover effect. It is a sedating medication, I actually use it off label for insomnia.
I've been on it for 10 years and depending on stress I can go from 12.5 mgs (half a pill) all the way up to 100mgs.
It's an odd drug. The higher the dose, the less sedating it was for me, but everyone's body chemistry is different. And when I'm not super stressed, half a pill with 10mgs of melatonin knocks me right out.
And I do notice I only start to feel normal late in the day when I go above the half pill. But re-reading your question, it won't augment the Lexapro, just help calm/sleep. It's not a mood elevator.
Check with your doctor first though before making any changes. He/she may have you on that dosage specific to your mh needs.
I take lamotrigine (Lamictal) for my mood swings and it's helped tremendously. You might want to talk to your doctor about lamotrigine, carbamazepine (Tegretol), or other mood stabilizers.
I found Seroquel to be quite sedating at the recommended dosage for depression/anxiety, but that's just me. Everybody responds differently to these kinds of medications.
Recommended dose is 25mg at night to hopefully help with my morning anxiety and restlessness. I'm giving Lexapro more time before I think about increasing my dose. It will be 8 weeks on Friday on 20mg.
I took 25mg of Seroquel last night and found my morning a little more settled. So fingers crossed that what I needed instead of having to be reaching for diazepam.
