I noticed that after a year on 54mg of Vyvanse my concentration levels have now dropped considerably, weight gain is up as is bloating/wind, leg tremors, blurred vision (at night), I feel like my stomach is solid yet my motions are regular, I'm now quite emotional, anxious and seriously quick to temper (although that has been true for most of my life this without warning). I used to take Concerta xl and found that too seemed to stop working (albeit without these side effects).
I wonder if maybe I should have stayed with the Concert xl but perhaps increased the dosage?
I'm in UK and we don't really have the ADHD thing nailed down very well here... unlike in the USA
My question is : Does your body become used to Vyvanse and therefore not work as it did at first?

Amended to 50mg vyvanse.
Hi,
I'm in the same place you are with Vyvanse not having an effect anymore. I've never heard of 54 mg. of Vyvanse. Here, it's a capsule made in even increments, 10 mg- to 70 mg, counting by tens... I've been on the highest 70 mg dose capsule for over a year. Yes, you can definitely build up a tolerance. I have some suggestions, since I've tried just about all of the stimulants and non- stimulants for ADHD/ADD. Concerta is a good medicine at the correct dose for focus, memory, etc. It sounds like you may want the ADHD- aiding qualities, plus the appetite suppressing properties that an ADHD med can sometimes provide? The max dose is 72 mg for Concerta here in the states. Concerta is made in 54 mg extended- release tablets. Are you sure you're not confusing Concerta with Vyvanse? Concerta is made in 18, 36, and 54 mg tabs.
If you get that high of a dose, it will work for a time. There's also Adderall XR. This is very helpful for a lot of people. If you want to try something different, you can choose short- acting, immediate release Adderall or Ritalin, which you can take 3 times a day. I liked the Adderall. I took 30 mg Adderall IR, 3 times per day as needed, and it was wonderful! No hunger, I had motivation, energy, and it's nice that you can be in control of when and how much you want to take during the day. Finally, a non- stimulant medicine called Modafinil. It really perks you up, helps at work immensely, helps with decision-making, quick thinking; it keeps you awake, aware, and on your toes. Those are my suggestions. Oh, and my very last would be Mydais. It's the newest and strongest one out. It's like EXTRA strength Adderall XR. I haven't tried it yet. It may not even be available where you are yet. I hope this helps!
