I've recently been prescribed to adderall. I've been receiving the Adderall 30mg XR capsules, (which work great for my adhd) but this month's refill the pharmacy gave me pink round tablets. Imprinted : Cor 136. They said for me to try these out, until they could get more capsules. I've been researching, but all I see is that it's a generic "adderall", and it doesn't state whether its an XR (extended release) or not. Where I've also read that it is. I have taken my dosage but I don't feel it's quite the same as the capsules. Can anyone help answer my question?
Is the pink 30mg generic adderall cor 136 extended release?

Dextroamphetamine XR (adderall)is always in a capsule form, IR is always a tablet. Although other medications are not. Concerta, a Methylphenidate XR(ritalin)is in tablet form, with a very unique style of release. As far as SSRIs many come in tablet form and are 24 hour pills. If a med has a long enough half life it does not need to be manipulated to release slowly.
The only bad thing about having to double or increase dosage in any way, is thats likely to leave you short for a day or more since alot of pharmacies wont fill it until its been 25-30 days since last fill regardless of private pay or insurance. To me if a Dr says take adderall 30 mg twice daily i should get adderall name brand not generic. I am paying for the med cash pay and i dont go say i need a pack of marlboro or can of copenhagen and they hand me grizzly or pall mall. But i also dont think insurance company, legislation or any NON MEDICAL LICENSED PHYSICIAN should have ANY influence/control over treatment of health. If my Dr wants to prescribe me a hydrocodone he/she shouldnt have to say but, insurance, congress, etc.
Has made it near illegal to do so, go to pain management, which i have done and up til now is fine but last month was given my usual month supply pain med and instead follow up in month told me i dont have to come in monthly now its bi monthly, idk if ill be given months med aa have been for years without being seen or if i have to do a month without, which all literature even pain contract says not to stop taking med suddenly, but they dont seem to think its issue if they are the ones cutting off at once after years of giving a dependancy med, but thats another forum and i have learned to just take it as they give bc any queation of it they call drug seeking behavior and start seeing you as a dopey. Anyway... Thanks..
This month was the first time I got the cor 136 from the pharmacy. They are IR, not extended. They DO NOT work at all! I am so upset that I have to wait 30 days to refill and go without my meds. I have been on adderall for a year and I know how the name brand helps me focus and do my job. These pink pills do absolutely nothing. Is there somewhere we can complain?
I've been taking 30mg cor136 for 15 yrs Along with 20 mg xr Teva the cor136 u have in question is an ir generic version from my experience the last about 6_8 hrs at most but work really well
I've been prescribed both xr and or 30 mgs for about 15 yrs. And just as stated, they after ir's. Anything not in a capsule isn't time release. And yeah, wtf kind of pharmacy gives something non prescribed? ? When I fill one rx, sometimes they don't notice it's the other rx and they wok tell met I just filled..I'm like, no that was the time release, or no that was the ir. They've been short on pills before and never even offered to substitute one for the other. That's a biiig no no, for the pharmacy to say. ..try this. Yes, they can answer questions about prescriptions..but they aren't drs. Definitely take that back. It should still work, u would just need to double dose like someone mentioned, twice a day instead of once. Good luck! But whenever I'm not positive on an rx, I look it up on they internet...
im prescribed oxycodone to and they come out with new pills so I always type in on hoogle what's on the pill if it's unfamiliar ..but at this point in my life, I've pretty much seen all the different types of generic pills.
But as someone else said, it will say xr if it's time release , but adderall xr never comes in a tablet
That is misinformation. There are plenty of tablet form extended-release / timed release medications on the market. Wellbutrin, ms-contin, Oxycontin, Concerta to name a few.
Facts!
It sounds like they were just substituting because they were out of yours.
If a med doesnt' say if its ir or xr, its always ir. It will say if its xr.
I would take them back to the pharmacy and tell them they don't work you need the ones prescribed. The thing is you can't take ir once a day, so the dosing changes too, they can't just hand you some pills and not tell you that.
Well said; facts and, possible abuse prevention, and reasonable opinion

Ignore my comment above, it was meant for a different responder.
They're IR's, and that is one very messed up pharmacy giving you those instead of what you're prescribed.
