my mom had shingles and was suffering from severe nerve pain for about 5 months. she was prescribed strong pain meds which didn't actually help so she stopped taking them, and gabapentin 100mg taken twice daily. but recently has tapered from 100mg daily to 100mg every other day after she no longer complained of severe nerve pain after taking Moringa oleifera which is an energy- blaster food supplement loaded with vitamins and minerals, essential amino acids, etc. she has since been taking this amazing food supplement and has never complained of severe nerve pain again. please do search Moringa oleifera in the internet for a detailed information. i strongly feel that what this super food supplement did to my mom could also do amazing things to you. take care. God bless.
You may want to try combining what you're already on with something else just for the pain, like steroids, nerve blocks, opioids, or tricyclic antidepressants. If the pain continues long term you could develop chronic pain so something to consider. If the wait is long to see your doctor even try a clinic or the emergency room. Hope you feel better soon, I've heard how painful shingles are. Take care.
Thanks,i'm taking Gabapentin 300 mg and Salsalate 750 mg per my doctor, they last about 4-5 hrs and pain returns, not as sharp a pain and as long but still painful.
Just don't want this the rest of my life.
Perhaps a long acting pain killer may work better & for longer???
