"There is some indication that the ingredients in Osteo Bi-Flex may increase blood sugar levels by interfering with insulin. However, according to MayoClinic.com, those studies have been inconclusive. Diabetics should check with their doctor before taking Osteo Bi-Flex. The chondroitin in this product is structurally similar to heparin, and so cannot be taken by those on blood thinners such as Warfarin. Osteo Bi-Flex should also be avoided by people with bleeding disorders. Any weight-loss supplement containing chitosan should be avoided, as it can block the absorption of chondroitin. The chondrotin in Osteo Bi-Flex may interact in a beneficial way with NSAIDs, allowing patients who take NSAIDs for osteoarthritis to take a lower doses. Patients should speak to a doctor about any other drug reactions before taking Osteo Bi-Flex."
Thank you- I have none of the above mentioned problems, and in generally great health -started using it in '05 noticed stiffness in hands and knees in mornings - friend recommended it - I work out 5 days a week = ride bikes, hike - Kayak -paddleboard -and I'm 63yrs Young! - Just wondered if I should still be taking it - I guess I will continue - Thanks again..
Hi cesmith: I was having some trouble with my knee. My orthopedic doctor recommended taking osteo biflex, as well as "Curcumin". The main ingredient in my curcumin capsules is turmeric root extract, which is a natural anti-inflammatory; and also contains ginger, and BioPerine (black pepper extract) for better absorption. I don't have any more inflammation in my knee since starting this supplement. It is also good for so many inflammatory problems throughout a person's body. Google it, it is an amazing product. And, no, I don't sell it, lol. I order mine online. :-)
THANKS - Will check it out!
By the way: I only take the Curcumin. It worked so well, I never got around to trying the Osteo Bi-Flex!
