I accidentally ate food before taking omeprazole just now. I find this happens often because I’m forgetful.
If I take the omeprazole now even though I ate, will it still have the same effect?
Can omeprazole be taken after a meal?

Wait and take it before 1 hour prior to your other meal.
The key is, make certain you take it once a day. And do not skip a day or your gut will let you hear all about it if you do. My preference is Zegrid.
You have to take it 1 hour minimum before your meal, otherwise it will not protect your stomach from food or medications.
I take Nexium (esomeprazole) which is in the same drug class PPI (Proton pump inhibitors), and I take it 1 hour before breakfast and my medicines.
