I was on Trintelix 20mg for about 3 months and didn't notice the changes I am looking for. My doctor has now put me on Viibryd 10mg to start. This is my first day, I feel completely out of it, which I haven't felt when starting other medicine before. Is this normal? I realized that I was sitting completely dazed out until my husband or daughter caught my attention. I guess the best way to phrase it, I just zoned everything around me out without knowing it. I keep reading that this medication is worth sticking to because it gives you the energy you use to have so you can enjoy life again, instead of being sunk by every little thing negative in life...
What should be normal when first starting Viibryd?

With the caveat that every person may have their own unique response to a medication, I would suggest that what you are experiencing in not "normal". I'm wondering though if what you are experiencing is more related to withdrawal from 20 mg of Trintellix? Did your Doctor slowly taper you off the Trintellix? Is the Trintellix completely out of your system? I have been on both medications, in part, due to an impression that the medications were similar to one another. However, for me, the medications seem like polar opposites. I found Trintellix too be way to stimulating! 5 mg of Trintellix was tolerable but at 10 mg my thoughts were racing uncontrollably. I had to go back to Viibryd which I find to be quite mellow. Viibryd, for me, just produces a seemingly balanced and organic like sense of well being.
I would suggest You give the Viibryd more time if you can. 10 mg is just a starting dose and really isn't a therapeutic dose for MDD. However, based on my experience with Trintellix (I kept thinking my response was temporary and tried to tough it out until I literally could not stand it any longer), I would urge anyone to go with their gut and if they believe a medication is creating a reaction which is torturous, that they cease the medication immediately.
All the best and take care for now.
I just started tapering down on the trintelix, I guess I didn't consider that. Thank you for the answer, hopefully the Viibryd will start to help. I honestly felt no different with the trintelix.
Appreciate the suggestions.
You may want to speak with your about your side effects. I doubt that Viibryd at a 10 mg. dose for one day would cause what you experienced but I am not an expert.
I'm guessing you're now taking 10 mg. of Trintellix? If so that is a pretty big reduction. That said, Trintellix has a pretty long half life so you probably wouldn't feel much of a difference before the 4th day at the lower dosage.
I hope the Viibryd works for you.
