I was put on viibryd 40mg June 2012, after being on paxil for 13years . I easily lost 70lbs in 4 months.
It's now 2 years and 10 months later and I still kept most of the weight off and enjoy buying smaller size clothes.
I was on Paxil for so long, I could feel myself expanding with no sexual desires and I was tired all the time.
Viibryd didn't come without some problems. There was absorption problems, brain shocks, anxiety, fears and anger issues. Doctor believed I didn't constantly have enough medicine in my system. She prescribed 20mg in morning and 20mg at bedtime. And must be taking with food for proper absorption. This works well for me. Hope this helps.
I'm not sure about significant weight loss but my ex boyfriend was put on Viibryd 40mg. while we were together and seemed to drop a few pounds, coincidentally, but he is very thin with a high metabolism...
He has been on it for months now & I remember for the first few months he was on it he kept saying how hungry he felt all the time which was odd for him & seemed to be a direct side effect of the medication.
As far as I know, that side effect started dropping off after that initial reaction. Was your at appetite affected if I may ask?
I struggle with binge eating but I do think the cravings were worse than usual. I gained a ton of weight on it.
