Noticed that my urine and groin area sweat smell like (garlic, onions or some weird smell) checked for UTI plus she put me on Macrobid, but negative for infections. Anyone notice any odor, smell changes with this Metformin? Omgosh.This metformin is killing me with all the GI side effects and muscle pain. I also feel like my asthma has got worse! All My primary doctor says is just hang in there! She also has not prescribed a glucose meter to test my readings! Hoping to hear back from you good warriors!

I've had diabetes type 2 since 1995. I was first started on metformin. It worked for awhile but then I started Lantus insulin. It's long lasting which is great. I didn't notice any odor coming from my urine. But when I first started metformin, I had diarrhea all the time. Eventually, my body got used to the drug. Now, I'm on 50 IU of Lantus insulin and 4: 500mg of metformin. Always check your blood sugar too.
