Naloxone blocks or reverses the effects of opioid medication (sometimes called a narcotic), including extreme drowsiness, slowed breathing, or loss of consciousness.
Naloxone acts within minutes and its effects usually last up 45 minutes. Its duration of action will depend on how it was given (eg IM injection will last longer than IV injection) and how much was given. Naloxone has a half life of 1 to 1 1/2 hours (this is the time it takes the body to clear the plasma of the drug by half).
thanks for the info i was taking it in suboxone but was recently hurt in an accident and i needed to know how long it would take b4 my pain meds would work
Thank you for your response, because this is precisely what my situation is. I felt that I was taking opioids for chronic post-surgery lumbar nerve pain too long and began treating my condition as an addiction, rather than a dependence. I am paying the price, and will follow up with my doctor tomorrow. Your input is appreciated.
Ok I took my last beniville yester witch has Naloxone in it how long do you think it will take the Naloxone to get completely out my system
