Can I use mupirocin ointment on particularly bad cold sores?

Hello! Cold sores and impetigo are two different things. Cold sores are caused by a virus, so if that's what you have, there are a few over the counter options like Abreva that you can use. If this is impetigo, then the mupirocin should help since this is typically caused by bacteria.
