Everybody is differant so it probably can't be measured in length, but most of the applicator should fit comfortably inside, like using a tampon, lie on your back or standing will help but you want to go to bed pretty quick after so it can work without too much running out, I get all the way ready for bed then use the cream.
One night of it not being ideally inserted is not going affect treatment.
The external cream helps but it doesn't give instant relief.
I find Monistat sometimes burns or stings when the yeast infection is bad,but it works fast than cansetin products. If it is not better in 4 days time see you doctor or think about oral Diflucan ( usually for sale in same area of store) which is pricey.
A sits bath ( just a few inches) in the bath with baking soda or apple cider vinger can help with comfort.
