Hey,
I had a Mirena coil fitted about 3 years ago, and it's been great so far. A few times a year I get a little bit of spotting.
However suddenly today I noticed some period-like bleeding, along with some period-like pains. I have never gotten a period since I've had this coil, but I googled it, and ok, sometimes people start getting periods after a while.
But now, in the last few hours, I've also been experiencing some much worse pain, which seems to be coming in waves, the peaks of which I'd rate as about 8/10 pain.
Is this normal, for someone who never got periods with the Mirena before? Thanks

Honey go and get that thing taken out, its not worth it and there are other much safer alternatives. Research Lady Comp, this device has saved my life it is a fertility monitor that is 100% accurate if used properly. If you live in the US, you wont hear about this device because of our government and Big Pharma. look into it, I hope im not too late on answering you. take care of you that is what is most important. I am a past mirena guinea pig, i pulled it out myself because I couldnt take the terrible side effects anymore. Back pain, ovarian cysts, acne, vaginal dryness just to name a few off my long list.

Have you checked placement? If the pain is bad and its new, then I'd say go to the er and have it checked.
